Very sharp with a good handle. Works great.

The OLFA Scorer is a MUST if you are cutting polycarbonate >=.118" . This is coming from someone who has previously used the blades sold at Lowes ("disposable" looking blades for cutting plastics sold at Lowes, and the rubber-handled, black and red blades sold at Home Depot). I recently changed from a fiskars rotary cutter to to OLFA, just to see if there was a difference when cutting this stretch-fabrics and thin gauge rubber. I found that the OLFA "Tungsten Carbide' blade were *extremely* sharp, left no uncut spots, and stayed sharp. I figured, based on that, these blades may work better on PC than those mentioned above. Wow. Before, it would take 20+ firm strokes to cut through .118 PC, now I can do it in less than 10, easily.. probably 5. And the blades show no wear after many passes. I can even cut through 1/4" PC with some effort, whereas with the cheap blades I would not have even considered trying. This means I don't need to cut via power tools. The tool itself is also quality. The pictures don't do it justice. It definitely LOOKS like a cheapo disposable, but once you inspect it closer, holder it in your hand, you will see that it is durable and comfortable. The handle has a tinted clear, textured panel that opens stealthily containing 2 extra blades - which really = 4 blades, as there is one on either side. That means that for the price of around what it would cost for 2, maybe 3 of the Home Improvement-type store's blades, you get 6. And each side should last you .. well.. I don't know because I have yet to wear through a single one, but they will last a LONG time. If there is a negative here, it's not at all a major one; after probably ~15 very firm passes, the kind where you are pressing extremely hard while dragging/digging through, the little wheel that holds the blade at full extension loosens only slightly. Basically, you notice this before it's loose enough to actually let the blade retract at all, so all it takes is a quick finger-tightening and you're all set. A very minor detail that would certainly not affect my advising anyone to buy one of these. Much praise for OLFA - they really are above all others.

Well, I'm not totally sure, but it seems to be "Made in Japan". Remember when japanese stuff was junk? That was a long time ago. Now you have Toyota and best knives in the world. I shopped around and not disappointed with this tool, which I bought through Amazon from AAA Industrial Supply. The handle has a door on the side which easily opens for access to the (included) spare blades, which will keep you cutting for a long time. Clever and simple way to remove and replace the blade. The turn-screw which locks the blade in place simply screws out, which frees the blade, shich you simply pull out. This turn-screw works surprisingly well for locking the blade in any position. (I like it all the way out.) In short, there's nothing to disllike about this knife. It simply does the job perfectly in every way. (I am cutting acrylic lenses to custom fit in 24" x 48" fluorescent light fixturees.)

Yes, this product works but it does requires some elbow grease to make the cuts. It will not cut all the way through so you have to judge whether you have "cut through enough" plastic to then be able to "break" the plastic without shattering or leaving a jagged edge. Keep the "covering" that came with the plastic/plexiglass and do not remove it until you have completed your cuts. I was working with a previously cut piece to make it fit my project. Since I did not have the covering on it, it scratched easily.

WOW! I was really not expecting this thing to work, but I bought it because I was kind of desperate to make my idea of acrylic drawer dividers a reality. I originally bought a different brand cutter at the local big box store and it sucked. I couldn't get that thing to make the plastic curly shreds that youtube told me I should be getting. I tried and tried, wasted a whole sheet of acrylic from my lousy scoring and trying to snap the pieces off, then got my husband to give it a go, got pissed off and ended up on amazon to see if a different brand had better reviews. I ordered this based on the reviews and I am SOOOO glad that I did. This thing cut everything I wanted in about 20 mins. I love it. I wish I had more projects to use it for. The noise during scoring is horrible, but I expected that from other reviews. Score lines snap off cleanly and straight. The blade is very sharp and the grip was comfortable for my hand. I own a few Olfa rotary cutters that have held up to loads of abuse, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that this thing was a good quality item. I like that I can retract & replace the blade, the original one I bought did not have either feature.

These are fairly good cutters. The only issue with these are that the blade tends to stick to the material that your cutting at times, which makes the blade extend and that can lead to breakage, etc.

It works well to cut acrylic plates. First, find a place where nobody complains squeaking noise. Mark a line on an acrylic plate with a pen and a ruler. Score multiple times along the marked line (and the ruler) with the scorer. Then break the plate by bending along the line (if it doesn't break, score some more). That's it. This is exactly what I wanted. A 12x12 0.125 inch acrylic plate can be cut in to two pieces within a minute in this way. Cuts are clean. Retractable blade adds a safety.

A lot better and easier work than any sawmachine. Very satisfied.

buenísimo para cortar metacrilato de 4mm, tenia q hacer 2 cortes en un metacrilato, hice 40 pasadas en cada corte. comenzando muy levemente y luego acentuando la fuerza, buenisimo para hacer cortes rectos. funciona de maravilla.

Does what it's supposed to. No complaints.

I'm cutting aluminum sheet 0.5 to 0.8mm thick with this tool. Use a straight edge and clamps and score it six times and snap. Cut edges need minimal deburring. The cuts are straight and large curves can be done. Its quick and easy and the blade lasts a long time. Although the handle is plastic, the blade is held in metal case inside the tool, it can take a lot of pressure. If you do not have access to sheet metal sheer this is the best way to cut thin aluminum sheet.
