Update: the stairs have come unhinged on one side. I'm hoping my carpenter can re-attach and reinforce them. Overall they've been great but this is concerning since they're supposed to support quite a bit of weight. First Review: I purchased these stairs for my loft bed and they are perfect! I'm older and not in great shape and yet they are very easy to pull down and push back up into place on the wall. They are also easy to climb and feel very safe. My carpenters did however have to reinforce the wall to support them. Make sure you have professionals installing them who know about weight bearing loads.

The instructions could be a LOT better. Once in place this is a very special ladder. I would support it much stronger if the instructions were more descriptive. There should be easier instructions if an additional step is required. I will add there is a requirement for additional support to support the stairway.

We purchased these because we didn't want stairs that were permanently taking up space to our garage loft and we did not want them accessible to the grandkids without an adult present for safety. This is a solid well built ladder that has flex when you are using it and has been the perfect addition to our garage. I would have given it 5 stars if it had a handrail for the top that was tall enough for coming back down. We have had ours for 4 years and would not consider anything else for this space.
