This is a durable and strong lock, with plenty of flexibility to be used in a variety of ways. I was able to buy a second set of keys for safe keeping.

I appreciate other reviews that mentioned weight and bulk. I had been considering the Keeper 785, but the 585 weighs less than half as much (3.5 vs 1.61 lbs.) and is noticeably less bulky, making a very tidy fit wrapped around my seatpost. Kryptonite's scale of 10 security ratings puts the 585 at 4 and the 785 at 5, so both are in the 4-6 range that their application chart says is suitable for my rural/suburban stops of up to 2 hours. For a lubricant, Kryptonite recommends the same Finish Line Dry product my dealer told me to use on the bike chain, and the lock style is quick and easy to use. I'm very pleased with this convenient deterrent to casual theft while out and about on my bike. Update: After 16 months of use, and I'm out on my bike and using it 4-5 days per week throughout the entire year, everything continues to look great and operate smoothly and easily. Extremely satisfied with this purchase.

I expected the chain to be a bit heftier, but it's well made. It should work fine for my relatively rural city.

No complaints, using it for around town, not located in a high risk area, and not a very long length chosen at 2.7 feet, easy to snake through, lock and unlock, no issues, happy with this choice.

Good, light and easy to lock!

Looks like a solid lock and chain. Key is "locked" in the lock and cannot be removed until the lock/chain is used again to secure the item (in my case, a bike). I guess a chain cutter can cut it but I doubt that anything else would have an effect.

I use this as a helmet lock. It's not super high security, but it's good enough to protect a relatively cheap item like a helmet.

Of course, this review is in Singapore where bike theft is not exactly rampant. That said, this lock has a good balance of weight and deterrence. It looks chunky and strong, and yet it's not so heavy it becomes a burden to lug around. Convenient length. One of the reviewers here says it thwarted a cutting effort so I think it's good enough for supermarket or hawker centre runs where the bike will be parked in high traffic locations and secured to a post. Whilst it wraps around the seat post, my thighs will occasionally rub against it. Will probably have to wrap it around the top tube next time.

Deze ketting gebruik ik nog niet lang...ze heeft een degelijk slot en weegt niet te zwaar...zeker voldoende veilig voor normaal gebruik...in langdurig onbewaakte omstandigheden zijn alle sloten te kraken.

Zijn niet te zwaar in gewicht en past goed met een fietshoes waar gaten in zitten. Ik heb er twee gekocht voor mijn ebike, zodat je zet om beide velgen kan vastzetten. Sleuteltje voelt wat iel aan, maar slot is prettig in gebruik. Kan ze goed opbergen in mijn fietstas.

I had the more expensive Kryptonite locks. Those, the chains were heavier and the locks felt better. However given the lightweight nature and brand, I'd say this is a good quality lock. Some people don't want to carry heavy chains so this solves the weight issue. The length is long enough to lock up aginst most places. The lock feels a bit flimsy and not as strong
