Guitar Hero Metallica - PlayStation 2

A fantastic game, One of the best guitar hero games in my opinion. The story-line is kind of weak weak, but the cutscenes offer some comic relief in between some furious fretwork and strumming. It requires a bit more technical skill in the right hand for many of the songs (due to the nature of the genre present) but if you hang in there and practice a bit, you'll find your playing to be almost mechanical and DEFINITELY percussive. if you love Metallica like me, this game is a must have. If you're looking for an excuse or a reason to get INTO Metallica, pick this game up and strap yourself in for some insane songs, many of which reach and even exceed the 7 minute mark. There is a small problem i encountered with the game, but luckily it's easily dealt with. the background of the notes (the highway as the game calls it) can play tricks on your eyes in this game, especially when playing as kirk hammett. to remedy this, there is a cheat you can enter from the options menu called "black highway", and it does just that. it removes the design you see underneath the notes and replaces it with a black board. some people find this takes away from the gameplay experience, but i personally think it helps you focus on the notes even more, and in many instances in this game - you'll need a lot of focus. (for your convenience, the cheat is: Yellow Red Green Red Green Red Red Blue) But even through it's flaws, this game shines bright, and the focus is more on the songs than the presentation, although the presentation is great in some instances. Find a copy and play it for yourself!

I absolutely love this game! I am the hugest Metallica fan ever. And you can't honestly have a Guitar Hero game without putting a version out made specifically for Metallica. On this version you get to play 28 Metallica songs and 21 songs that the band picked that influenced them. The graphics are amazing! And for some of the songs, after you have "Rocked" it, you can listen to the song while reading some facts about that certain song or the video. I really like the fact that they will let you go back and watch Metallica play. For the previous games, it's kinda hard to play when you wanna watch and see what is going on with the graphics. You'd probably miss a note or two while trying to see everything. So you can actually sit back and watch the graphics on this one. The setlist is killer. You can play older songs from their albums up to "Death Magnetic". A great game for any fan of Metallica or the Guitar Hero series!!

I was excited to get this game being a huge Metallica fan. I still have not been able to play the first song due to compatibility issues with my PS2. It took an hour to get to the first song only to freeze. This happened several times with several copies. I now own a useless unplayed copy of what I though would be the best Guitar Hero. I now won't buy any of new releases.

i have played this game many times on ps3 and so i decided to buy it for ps2 for me to play while i am in iraq. i enjoy the game on ps2 just as much as i did on ps3, there are very few changes. the load times seem slightly longer, but not so much that it bothers me. the graphics are still great and met all my expectations for ps2. the set-list is actually slightly longer because you do not have the ability to get on the ps store and download the full album of death magnetic, so they threw in a few more songs for the ps2 version. i can't really comment about the sound quality because i am not playing on a very good tv. overall, i still really enjoy this game very close to as much as i did for ps3 and i would recommend it to anyone that wants to save money and can overlook a few features that don't affect overall gameplay.

Great game! It has all the songs from metallic you would want, and a few that I personally was not familiar with until I played the game. The 20 guest performances were good, though there were some I could have done without. I like the format of enter sandman on this version of guitar hero better than the rock band version, something about this one seemed more logical, and felt right when played. Overall I would say this is a great game for any lover of Metallica, and a real challenge for all guitar heroes.

This one stays fun longer than the other Guitar Hero and Rock Band games... If by "fun" you mean "insanely infuriating." The songs are typically too long (I blame Metallica themselves for that), and toward the end some of the songs are so dependent on the beat that if you miss one note, you're in trouble for that whole section...and possibly the rest of the song.

Product took a little bit to arrive but DEFINITELY worth the wait. Game plays perfectly and was in excellent condition. I've been playing it nonstop. If you're patient enough to wait for the delivery, it is definitely worth it. 10/10

I was so hyped to finally get this game. Everywhere i go to it's not in stock anymore and it comes in the mail. The game won't even work. I thought it was just a console problem so i try all of my other games, they worked perfectly fine. I guess this was too good to be true. Also, I wouldn't recomend buying this because this might happen to other people as well
