Espresso quality on your dolche gusto
I purchased this refillable capsule with the main aim of getting better coffee from my dolche gusto machine. This capsule is fantastic, simply fill with pre ground coffee (about 8grams) I used Taylor's of harrigate ESP ground coffee and 200 degrees coffee (ground in store for espresso), tamp down with supplied tamper, put silicone lid on, pop capsule in like you normally would and flip lever to start the machine. The results are truly amazing compared to dolche gusto pods, Proper coffee with taste. For an even better and closer to espresso drink I freshly grind beans with a hario skerton pro hand grinder on finest setting and this enables me to get the flow to resemble the flow of honey. The capsule is very easy to wash with just a rinse under the tap, The only negative about this product though is that this capsule only produces enough for a single espresso but I cannot see how you could produce a double espresso without buying 2 reusable capsules, 5 stars from me 😊

Makes a good coffee but sprays hot liquid everywhere and small parts are easy to lose
This pod is comprised of a stainless steel body, a silocone lid into which a metal disk to spread the water out over the coffee fits, and a small metal disk to ensure no grounds flow through the out hole. It comes with 2 small disks - one with fewer holes for more coarse ground coffee and one with more holes for finer ground coffee. It also comes with a little ring to stand the pod on as you're filling it, and a tamp and measuring spoon (come to think of it, I'm not sure if it comes with the spoon or if I had that already). I placed the body in the ring holder, the smaller disk with more holes rests in the bottom, filled with approx 7.5g of finely ground coffee, used the tamp to press it down lightly and placed the lid complete with larger metal disk on top. That went in the machine. I primed the pod - ie. pulled a little water into the pod but not enough for it to come out- and left it to rest for about 30 seconds before turning it on again to finish making the coffee. It worked well, no leaks and tasted really good compared to the pre made pods. The coffee came out smoothly and there was no mess. On sunsequent occasions this wasn't the case unfortunately. The taste was still the same but a couple of months later and visiting family members have managed to throw the small disk for finer ground coffee out with the grounds.. I'm using slightly coarser grounds with the other disk and it has a tendency to absolutely p*** coffee everywhere. Like a drunk man at a urinal it's all over the floor, wall and anyone in the vicinity. Still no leaks from the top unlike other reusable pods I have which is a plus. The silicone lid really helps there. It's also easier to clean than others. All in all it is the best reusable pod I've had. Just watch your small parts and don't let your family clean it up.

LOVE IT !
I LOVE it !! I made an espresso with this pod with the highest scepticism but man was I very pleasantly surprised or WHAT ! I never liked the flavour of pod coffee, I just used it for convenience & " froth" & strength. The mokka pot doesn't give froth to the espresso ! Anyway, I ground fresh beans, filled the reusable pod with the coffee, fitted the espresso filter et voilà! The intensity, the flavour & the little espresso froth on the top - it made the perfect espresso! I'm loving it. I'm also saving a tonne on capsules now which- I don't know are filled with what kind of coffee ! So I can now just use any beans I like & it will make the PERFECT espresso ! Fits my machine perfectly too. I'm ordering the pack of 2 now. I can't wait to try this with more types of coffee / beans. Suddenly my machine is much posher, hehe. Thank you for making the product & I'm LOVING it ! So pleased !

Read this before buying
I had great hopes for this, but using it is so much hassle. * Two stainless steel filters provided, one of which is so fine the Dolce Gusto machine can't generate enough pressure to push water through it. * After making a tea or coffee you have to be really careful if you want to make a second cup. The pod is made of stainless steel and is too hot to handle safely immediately after using it. * The filter sits loose in the bottom of the pod, and coffee goes on top, so when emptying the pod into the bin, you have to be careful not to lose the filter. * The best method I found to clean/reuse the pod was to remove the pod holder from the coffee machine, run it under cold water until the pod is cool enough to handle safely, remove the rubber lid from the pod, empty the pod into your hand so that you can then remove the filter from the used coffee grounds, throw the grounds from your hand into the bin, then rinse everything (including your hands) under warm water. A well made product, but too much hassle and too messy to be practical for most people I suspect.

No flavour
It fits, it does not leak, easy to use. However, it does not work with dolce gusto machine. The coffee has tastes super watered down. I try mus best to pack the cup with coffee and even used the espresso filter. It just does not work well. Waste of a good coffee

Use finely ground coffee and the filter with many holes.
It's not as quick as the pre bought pods and takes very short getting used to period. Might be good to have 1 box of pods on hand for those mornings you don't have time to use this product. The biggest benefit is that you can choose what coffee you want to drink and usually, it would be much better than all of the standard Dolce gusto pods (I've tried quite a few). The item comes with 2 metal filters to put at the bottom of the pod. I initially tried using a slight coarser coffee made for cafeteriere with the "few holes" filter but coffee splashed all over the place. Then I just used a blender to grind up the coffee to almost espresso like state and used the filter with many holes instead. Coffee came out smooth and well brewed at level 3. Might try level 4 to extract slightly more coffee next time. I suspect that the Dolce gusto doesn't get near hot enough to burn the coffee so let's see. Overall, very pleased with the purchase.

Prima uitvinding.

The product is really good, I use it on daily basis, the manufacturer should mention the coffee grind number required as initially when I had done the fine grading coffe it didn’t gave me the right result but then I used the grading as 6 and 7, hence now the coffee is perfect as we get in star bucks, haaa certainly I am using the beans also from star bucks. Anyway I am happy with the product but it’s bit expensive that’s the only one drawback, Madama should give 2 sets in the price of one. Thanks anyways
