Great Keyboard - Some niggles, but worth it, even at the price.
Ok so this is my first Apple branded iPad keyboard. I bought my M2 Air a few weeks ago at microcenter and also picked up a logitech combo touch. I was happy with that case but soon enough was plagued with issues like the keyboard not connecting and having to reboot the iPad and connect the keyboard to the case a certain way. So annoying. I started looking at alternatives and was thinking about the ESR case but then stumbled upon the “used, like new” option on the magic keyboard. It just works. Pros: - Immediate connection. - No hassles; I can pull the iPad off and use it as a tablet and then snap it back onto the keyboard case with no issues reconnecting. - Looks good. I really like the cantalever effect when I open up the case. The iPad floating is kind of neat. - Typing experience: this is nice to type on, I’m fairly accurate even for an 11” iPad. It’s small, but that’s fine. I had a Duet 3 and it was about the same size. - Backlighting is perfect and I love the keys glowing just perfectly in a low light condition. Cons: - Weight. This thing makes the iPad kind of heavy, but I’ll be carrying it in a backpack for my upcoming trip so that’s not a big deal. - Size. I have the 11” and it’s a little small, but like I said above, I came from a Duet 3 and it was about the same size. - Price. Holy cats, I bought this as a ”used, like new” and it was still $200. - No edge protection. That’s the only advantage the logitech offered. - No flap for the Apple Pencil. This is a niggle and if I want it, I can buy an ESR case with the flap to hold the pencil. Overall? This is a great option for a keyboard to turn your iPad into a semi-laptop/netbook. I love how easy it is to connect and just use.

“Gets the Job Done”
1st Impression: I was previously in the market for a new keyboard as at the time, I was just starting an accelerated Bachelor of Science Degree & needed a keyboard that could keep up with my busy life-to-be. In comes the apple keyboard for my iPad Pro. All I can say is, this did NOT disappoint. 4 years later, we have completed the entire Bachelors & a Masters Degree on this! FUNCTIONALITY: Lets face it, not all keyboards are created the same. This is a simple fact. The apple keyboard is so unbelievably user friendly & I can use the keys with minimal issues (If any). The keyboard pairs perfectly with my iPad & hasn’t given any problems over all of the years. This includes all of the many terms papers I’ve researched + written on here. DURABILITY: Apple products have held up over the years in my personal experience. When I decided to slurge on the $299 price tag, I had to know that this product not only deemed the purchase as “Worthy”, but held up to the rigorous experience ahead of it. After all, I bought this to assist me in the completion of a fast-paced degree. Thankfully, this did NOT disappoint in that test. As stated previously, even after all of the papers & research I’ve typed on here (Including this review), the keys have held up extremely well & have not faded even the slightest. I would absolutely tell me to go for it if they are on the fence about buying one of these for their devices. FIT: The apple keyboard fits the iPad Pro like a new pair of Bose NC headphones, just right & without any bulge. One part of the keyboard that I have come to love is the integrated charger port on the bottom left side. This especially comes in handy when charging the iPad so that I can use the iPad port to charge my iPhone or other electronics simultaneously. “THE VERDICT”: If you’re in the market for a good keyboard that’ll hold up to practically anything thrown at it, look no further than the iPad Pro keyboard. Despite its hefty price, it’s an investment that absolutely will be able to get you through whatever work you want & need to complete. I would buy again in the future if needed. I kept this review simple & to the point. Any questions that weren’t answered can be done in the comments below if needed. Thanks!

I really enjoyed this keyboard!! First impressions were really good, I was kinda skeptical about this item, I thought it was going to be fake for some reason since apple no longer sells this item, but it wasn’t and its very much real, I really enjoyed the features, the automatic lights on the keyboard when its dark, the fact that it charges with the case as well as how nice the keyboard itself is, the only downside I would say about is product is the weight its kinda heavy, but it doesn’t bother me and wouldn’t be a reason for me to not give it five stars, I wouldn't say its extremely heavy but definitely has some weight to it. Overall Im really liking the keyboard!!

Almost perfect!
It's a beautiful device that turns an iPad from a tablet into a true productivity device. The keyboard is beautiful and the key travel feels spot on. I strongly believe that Apple makes the best touchpads in the industry and the touchpad on this case is phenomenal. The case adds a little - but not a lot - of heft so the device is still sleek and relatively light and the iPad connects magnetically to the case with ease. The case even has a USB-C port for charging the iPad. A bunch of thought went into integrating the device with the operating system - using the touchpad in iOS the cursor snaps intuitively on clickable menus and buttons and it really feels like a premium experience. There's not much to criticize. It's obviously pricey but it is truly a premium device. While I kind of wish the case supported propping the device up in portrait mode, it doesn't detract from my strong positive feelings. This is as good a case as you can buy.

It does add some weight, but it's worth it
I got this for my iPad Air 4. I had a 10.5" Pro before, and I'm not the type that needs the extra processing power, at least not on a mobile device. This was a bit expensive, and even then it was probably worth it. At the new price, definitely. It makes the smart folio redundant. The keyboard itself is very high quality; like a new Mac. The touchpad is smaller, but works very well, too. The only real downside is this is heavier than the iPad. It doesn't make it worse, though. It's got a very quality feel to the way it works, opens, and closes. Before, I had a MacBook Pro, and an iPad pro for my mobile needs. The Mac really was for browsing, and for moving files from an external disk and playing movies on a TV. It was kind of expensive for that purpose. Now that the iPad has USB-C, it hooks to the TV easily, and can move files from a drive. Plus, with Office and the keyboard, I can do some legitimate work if I have to. For my needs, it makes a MacBook Pro redundant, so I may just sell it soon. The 12.9 inch version may fit as my only mobile device a bit better, but I think the 11" is up to the job. This keyboard is a big part of that. The pass-through charging means I can still use it connected to power if I have a mouse or drive attached. With the folio, it is either switch around or carry a hub.

The Magic Keyboard is excellent- well, almost!
The quality itself is top notch- the materials used, the typing feel etc is unbeatable. I use my iPad as my personal laptop as well and this is where the Magic Keyboard comes real handy especially given how it takes up so little space and can really be useful for those who type with the iPad on the lap. A few kinks- not having a function key is a big one. I bought it knowing this didn’t have the function key row, but I find myself repeatedly search for the volume key, escape key ( although you can modify an existing key to be an esc key, we are habituated to looking for an esc key on the top left). The key board is great for little to moderate use. However, if you need to do a lot of typing etc know that it is a cramped keyboard and your fingers can feel the cramp - it is not uncommon to hit the bottom of the screen as you type.I however use it for my occasional use- one odd email, basic browsing etc for which this is perfect. I read all reviews that mentioned with this case on, the iPad is going to be heavy and I still under estimated how heavy it would get. For a portable device, this keyboard is indeed very heavy. The keyboard +case also does not provide any protection whatsoever at all to the sides of the iPad which is a big downer for this prize so be prepared to invest in an additional case which is an additional investment. The extra charging C type port( note this does not support data) is a big plus and the floating look is very stylish. Overall, I still love it for the looks, the premium fit and finish and the quality of the typing experience along with added C port. But I’d only rate it as good and not excellent because for the price it is sold, I’d expect it to not have a majority of the flaws mentioned above. I bought knowing these issues and there isn’t a like for like alternative , hence a happy camper!

Great keyboard for iPad
Delivered as stated. Excellent quality keyboard. Easier to position than my current Logitech keyboard. This was not available when I purchased my iPad a few years ago. A bit heavier than the Logitech, but good feel and balance.

Don’t be Afriad to Bite, it’s a genuine Apple Magic Keyboard.
I have an IPad Pro M3 and at the time I bought it, I also bought the Magic Keyboard that was compatible with it. The keyboard just recently quit on me, and when I checked with Apple, they are no longer offering the Magic Keyboard that is compatible with that particular model of IPad Pro. While the customer service rep was informing me about the new IPad models & the keyboards, their cost etc., he also let me know that an Amazon vendor ‘might’ be offering a legitimate Apple Magic Keyboard that is compatible with my ‘ancient’ I Pad lol. YES THEY DO! I intend to ride this IPad till it collapses, so I was thrilled that for approx $300 I could get an authentic applie keyboard to pair with my device, cause there is no way in hell I can type on the integrated keyboard and momma doesn’t have $1200 to spend on new devices right now. Got it today, paired instantly, am extremely happy!

Very well made. All Apple stuff is.
I wasn’t sure if I would like having a keyboard on my IPad Pro 11 m2. I’ve been so accustomed to just use on my lap in almost any circumstance. I also thought, well, I have a laptop (Mqcbook Pro 16 M2), am I just turning my iPad into another laptop? I had to find out as this keyboard was on sale over the Christmas season 2024. I have had in on my iPad now for a couple of weeks and just know I use my iPad at length every single day. For comparison sake my normal daily case is the famous Zugu, for which I have a couple of different colours in. It’s by far the best standalone iPad case there is on the market. Anyways, the keyboard case is heavier. But not to the point of being annoyingly so. And although my Apple Pencil magnetically sits atop the iPad, this case provides no support around it. So I find when I move my iPad from carrying bag to table or the like, the pencil sometimes falls off due to it rubbing up against my bag or even in how I grap the iPad. The positives are you get an excellent keyboard that really impressed me with the fact I slapped my iPad onto this and it worked immediately. Nothing needed be done in settings. I love Apple for this ease of use thing they have in all their accessories. The iPad and case have more than enough magnetic force to stay together. You need not worry. The keys are the famous Apple easy to push shallow movement keys that feel very premium. They even light up in a dark room. The keyboard has a usb C input that charges the keyboard and the iPad simultaneously. The fit and finish is perfect, camera cut out aligns exactly. The exterior has a silicone feel and grips well. The trackpad is large enough for general use. Though I use my Logitech mouse at times and it provides even greater control. Last thing I’ll state, I do find the keyboard a tad small when I try to type numbers. I reach for the numbers and my hands instantly feel cramped, often hitting the iPad screen. But it’s a small compromise and won’t prevent you from using it. Overall I recommend the product. But what I do suggest to anyone looking at this, is do you need it? This keyboard does mitigate some of the flexibility of using your iPad without the keys. For instance it doesn’t balance well on my lap. It’s back heavy (the side the iPad sits on) and sometimes tumbles over. This doesn’t happen with my Zugu case. But the positives outweigh the negatives for sure. Recommended.

Love love love
I bought this keyboard on amazon instead of the apple store or best buy, like other places, have advertised because of where I live and the ability to return it if I did not like it. I love that about amazon. This little keyboard is absolutely amazing. It does come at a price. But I can't even imagine how I have done without it with my iPad since I have it now. If you are unsure about this keyboard fitting, make sure you look up the specs before you purchase. I also purchased the pen on here, and it is amazing. It is super light, it acts as a case. It fits really well right.Great job apple, and thank you.Amazon for selling it. Love the design.

Completely transformed the way I use my iPad
Typical Apple quality at a high price, but in my opinion well worth it as it made the entire use experience something in between a laptop and a tablet. If typing is your thing, this is the perfect choice. Love the additional touchpad gestures, as well as the backlight. It powers from the iPad battery, so no need to charge separately. Note that it adds quite a bit of weight/bulk to the device. Wish it had a row of function keys (even the Esc key is missing), but this can sort-of be worked around depending on the apps you're using or remapping existing keys.

Love the solid feel and backlighting
While adding a lot of weight ( and cost) ...this keyboard is great: Backlight keys, responsive trackpad and your iPad is well protected. It fits my iPad Air M3 in a protective case as well...

perfect for students!
i’m a college student and am absolutely loving the magic keyboard! i am not afraid of the ipad detaching from the keyboard as the magnets seems very strong. i also like that there’s another port on the keyboard so you’re able to charge your ipad through it! that helps free up the ipad’s port for other things. it’s too bad that the ipad is naked and not protected on the sides, but i’ve been careful and always keep it attached so as to not scratch the back or anything. i do know that you can buy skins for your ipad that will help to prevent scratches, but of course it’s still not completely protected like a case would allow. i added a pastel white dbrand skin to the outside of my magic keyboard as it is a fingerprint magnet and shows oils very easily. all in all i’m very happy with my purchase, no regrets here!
