Rockland Single Handle Laptop Rolling Backpack, 19", Bandana

My daughter loves her new backpack. I’ll admit that I took it for a spin myself. The rolling action is very smooth and quiet on most surfaces. The size is perfect for all of her school books and laptop computer. The three sections offer much room for anything a student might need. The dimensions are suitable for anyone 7+ years old to carry. In addition it fits nicely between the front and rear seats of my car. The main suggestions I have are deeper side pockets that can hold a bigger water bottle(20oz) and the roller handle could be a bit sturdier when fully extended, but I love that it’s a single pole.

On a recent flight, the strap on my backpack broke, so I decided to look for a rolling one. I like this one because it is roomy and easy to roll. Easy to spot!! Plus, when going through TSA, handle goes down easily to place on conveyer.

The bag arrived on time and in good condition. The bag seemed to be made well and I loved the hard bottom piece that gives the bag extra support and keeps the fabric from touching the ground when you have it loaded with books. The zippers all seem to be well made, lots of room in the main compartment, and several pockets to store everything. I started using the bag Aug. 15 and by the end of Sept. I started having trouble with the handle sticking while pushing it down. I now have to push in on the little button on the side of the handle so that the handle can telescope up and down. The button at the top of the handle no longer works at all to telescope the handle up or down and now the whole handle has started sticking in the bag when I push it all the way down. I'm having to pull really hard to get the handle to come up and sometimes I just give up and use it as a backpack. This is the most I have ever paid for a bag and I was sure it would last longer than my other bags which have lasted me the entire school year. Maybe I just have a defective bag or maybe the handle quality is poor..I'm not sure. I cannot recommend this bag due to the handle issue even though the overall quality seemed to be excellent at first. As much as I loved this bag when It first arrived I would say....DO NOT BUY THIS BAG unless you are only planning on wearing it as a backpack or unless you can afford to invest in a new bag frequently...6-8 weeks to be exact. And, I'm totally devastated because I loved the owl design.

I bought it for our 8yr old 3rd grader and she loves it. Mega pockets, the wheels go up and down stairs with no problem. It's big enough for all her books, plus lunchbox, giant water bottle and a light weight jacket too! It's getting dinged up from the stairs but the hard plastic is totally taking it. no other rolling backpack had the hard plastic like this one and the wheels are on the side so it pulls easily. A previous review complained about the zippers breaking. Only one pull tab came of put it went back on easily then I squished the opening closed with pliers, so not a big deal there.

I picked this backpack out for my daughter while she was away on vacation. It was important to me that she would have a rolling backpack. This one stood out as one of the prettiest that I have seen without being overly cute. My daughter is turning 8yrs old and I thought it was important for her to get away from all the cartoon motifs. My wife agreed. The backpack is roomy and very sturdy. It does not feel cheap and gives the buyer the feeling that the product will last a few years. I would like to add that the backpack is constructed to allow the user to use it specifically as a backpack too if the user opts to do so. I would definitely recommend the product to family and friends.

My daughter carries several books and notebooks back and forth to school everyday. This backpack is fashionable and works wonders for her. Just be aware that the straps will drag on the floor when the bag is being rolled. If you want longevity out of this bag, teach your child how to roll it and tuck the straps beforehand. My experience has not been like some of the reviewers that say this bag isn't durable. My daughter is rough and sometimes very clumsy...so it falls down the stairs, has fallen out of the van, trunk...you name it. But, it is still in very good condition halfway through the school year.

This bag has kept my laptop safe now for three years, and I use it almost every single day, hauling it back and forth to work. It goes up steps, gets thrown into the back seat of my car, is dragged over pavement, grass, curbs, whatever. It's still rolling, all straps intact, handle still sturdy. I have stuffed this thing to the gills without issue. It has plenty of compartments -- padded laptop compartment inside the main compartment, plus a section with plenty of room for books and "stuff." It also has a sizable zipper compartment with two smaller zipper compartments on the front, and sections that will hold a water bottle and a telescoped umbrella on the sides. It works great, plus it's cute as all get-out! One of the best purchases I've ever made. Edited 6/18/2016 - Edited to say, I still love this thing. It still puts up with all the abuse I throw at it. Still cute. And yes, I paid full price, and I'd do it again in a hot minute, except that I love the one I've already got so darned much that I don't think I could stand to replace it. I am working as a substitute teacher and do not have an office or a place to keep my belongings at school. I ordered this bag so I can put all my necessary items that I need to get through my day and wheel it with me wherever I am sent. This bag saves my shoulders and back by carrying my laptop, a book to read while I sit and watch the students, miscellaneous papers, a water bottle, some snacks....As I do not have a set break, I keep my water and my snacks, disposable masks for Covid, etc with me to reach in and grab at any time. The only reason I gave it a three stars is because like the other reviews say, the handle does not seem to have a sturdy build so it sort of seems that it might come out or break. I really, really hope that it does not break for a few years that I expect and would like the bag to last me. The pockets are great. I use all four openings. Should something happen, I will post it here and hope that Amazon can give me their best customer service and replace the item. Amazon is the only "store" I shop at. I hate shopping in big stores and shop on Amazon nearly every day. I hope that Rockport can improve upon this backpack since I don't want to waist almost $60 on something when I could've gotten something better built.
