This is a quality set. Locomotive is very smooth and quiet, even at very low speeds. Paint and printing on all units is perfect. If you already have a Kato starter set with an oval of track, this would a great second train. Overall a great value for the price.

Just as it should be…high quality Japanese product.

This is a great quality set like you would expect from japan. But one of the cars had a broken coupling but still would hook to other cars. I think this was factory damage because there was no sighn of the missing piece and was packaged well. The desighn is fragle for the couplings but the cars will connect toether without putting hands on as where the bachmann set needs help from hands on and wont all the time connect smoothly with just the engine like a kato train will.
