Not as informative as I thought it would be. Somewhat misleading title. The book has taken specific artworks and develops a section to each in describing what different aspects of that piece. In that its quite good, but I came away with no greater ability to look at art that I had before I read it.

Disappointed with the content. Simply portrays a series of paintings and talks about the details, but the reader doesn't provide explanations to apply to art in general. Also, it should be titled, "How to read paintings", not "How to read art"...
