Due to pricing seems to good to be true and over-rated.** A: As a contractor I purchased one of these hopeing to run some power hand tools as well as recharge batteries for my cordless tools. The first tool I tried was a 15amp circular saw, popped the breaker as soon as I pulled the trigger. I returned it and purchased a 3000 watt from the invertor store, it works fine, however the price is double. So to answer your question yes the price is too good to be true. **Q: I will be feeding this with 3 12v agm deep cycle batteries (100 amp-hrs each). will using this at 3000w harm my batteries? overheat them?** A: Highly recommend upgrading your cables from the what comes with it though if you plan on higher loads above 1500W. Also, make sure you have a suitable cable size (2 AWG or higher) to connect your batteries together. Just remember that your 100Ah batteries will really only get you about 50Ah each. It should be able to go from fully charged to minimum pulling a load if 1800W for about an hour (50Ahx12vx3), or a 100W load for about 16-18 hours. You'll lose a little bit in overhead and when you run it longer the overhead eats into you power availability.. If you have a constant load of 3000W, you'll only get a little above 30 minutes of use out of before your batteries will need recharging. Also @3000W , you'll be pulling 250 Amps (3000/12V) so you should be using at least 00 or 000 cables to connect the inverter.. I wonder why** A: Another thing you should use a grounding rod and make sure your inverter is earth grounded ,rods cost about $16.00 for 8 feet I used a T post tool to drive it in ground. Also if you plan on using solar panels make sure they too are earth grounded .highly recommend doing this . I have a 1500 watt cont. With a 3000 watt surg . Using 2 gauge copper wire from batteries to inverter a must or 4 gauge aluminum wire And use a circuit breaker between batteries and inverter this will protect it . Also if your using AC power you should put a circuit breaker between inverter and tools or power equipment . Safety should always be number one. Make sure unit you are powering is grounded also to prevent electric shock. **Q: What are the true dimensions ??** A: 3 7/8 high 9/38 wide mounting flange to mounting flange 21 1/4 long from end of power screws to end of power recepticle.
