The best flow rate for deep cleaning substrate. Keep in mind this product is significantly smaller diameter than the vast majority of comparable items. It is also 3× as long. The combination of its length and smaller diameter make it draw water much slower. The hose is also a fall smaller diameter as well. So definitely not your best option for a fast water change. However where this vac shines is in its flow rate. I can do a 50% water removal in my 37 gallon tall and still be able to get 95% of the substrate cleaned. That is a game changer for me. I love this Python 😀. I mean..I have always loved all my Python products over the years. But this one is my new favorite. I am like a gravel vac sniper but at a snails pace. It is slow. Another perk I want to mention is that it's really effective at picking up a large amount of substrate and transferring it to a different area of the tank. This was very handy at covering some exposed roots I had. Also it consolidated snails. Not strong enough to suck them out, but you can get them all into one area and them trap them! Giving this one the rare 5th ⭐️.

I have tried several of these, and this one is my favorite. It's small, yes, but I need the small tube to get in-between plants. The hose is nice and flexible, and the long length is much easier to use (keeps your hands out of the water). It does make it a bit harder to start siphon, but that's not the products fault (I just suck on the tube, I don't care). I do wish these came with longer hoses though, It would be nice to have a bit more hose sometimes.

Just what you need for water changes Long enough for 18in tank

The last Python I bought was 20 years old and still worked well before I stepped on it. It's the perfect diameter and length for my 50 gallon reef tank. The smaller diameter is ideal in that its not overpowered like some and helps it fit into the smaller nooks and crannies. The hose length is generous and kink free.

The draw rate on this product leaves a bit to be desired. It takes forever to help with the water change and leaves some heavier particulates behind. I upgraded to a larger vacuum.

This is advertised for small and mini tanks, though I cannot find the product dimensions. There are good reviews, though looks like they are from people with 36 gallon tanks! I have a 12 x 8 x 12 in 3 gallon aquarium that tapers and is even smaller at the bottom. this should not say for nano and mini tanks, what I got was a tube with 20 x1 inches that are completely inflexible, so this does not even fit in the tank to try to use it. This says small/tall for tanks 10-25 gallons. NOT NANO OR MINI

It can not and will not keep flow and suction. The connection where the hose makes up on the tube it like 1/4 OD just way to small, and it restricts the flow to the point where is brake suction. I had to restart the flow over and over again threw out the cleaning process. I hate starting the flow by mouth and having to keep doing that over and over getting a mouth full of nasty fish ****! Is not my idea of easy maintenance. Its length and size of the tubing was good for getting into my RedSea Max 130. the length got me to the bottom without having to put my hands in the tank i was happy about that and due the the size of my reef. I only needed to get around the glass which it only about a inch between the glass and live rock work so the size of the tube was nice also but the flow and suction wouldnt stay siphoning. I managed to get the job done with it but what a pain i dont hate it, but i dont like it neither. update: so damn thing was broken, and poorly sealed. Where the green fitting attached to the 1" tubing it wasn't sealed and had a crack where the tubing attached lol. Used some super glue to fix. But still a slow go but ive learn to make due.

I was measuring all my old syphons and I was sure this size would work.. but the tube is less dimater than I thought it would be.. but the bigger problem, is the hose is really fine... which means slow flow and easy to block.. overall I tried it once and never again.. I also couldnt get the auto-syphon going due to its length and the bars on my large aquarium stopping me. I am sure most if not all of this is on me.. but thats the experience I had, take it for what its worth.. was a waste of cash for me.. i thought being a Python it would be a sure thing.
