Definately worth the £40-50 considering you are spending thousands on your education. There is an Advanced Engineering Mathematics for levels after this which is more expensive, but probably essential too. If you are struggling to get through on maths, this is a must buy. Book is great, the condition and description not so much
The material in the book is absolutely fantastic. The issue is the condition it arrived in; the pages had been opened, so they were already bent, resting open, and there is a smudge on the cover and a few pages. Not what I'd expect for a "new" book.

A must have for anyone who want to understand and apply mathematics from a practical point of view. I used this book when I was a student and I still use it as an engineer to refresh few concepts when I need them. I always find what I want in it. The explanations are crystal clear and the examples always relevant. The best mathematics book ever written.

Basically, this is a good book. It has everything an engineer needs. I already learned it, but I forget, and this book helps a lot to remember. It has lots of exercises where you can check your level and also what you do not understand.
