How long does the battery last?

Well it says 10 years... if not just remember the year you bought it and they will send you a new battery to help that part of the warranty. Because no battery last 10 years.... I'm guessing 5 to 6 years avg use!

will this watch track the correct date for each month?

No. You have to change the date by hand if the month has fewer than 31 days. I think that's what you are asking.

What's the difference between timex tw2p759009j and timex tw2p75900 (https://amzn.com/b01448xniy)?

The respondent that said they're the same is mistaken. If you compare item specs, the band material used on the TW2P759009J is synthetic leather, hence it's priced about 20% lower. The color and texture is noticeably different, so make sure you received the right product.Well, I guess the watch itself is probably the same, which might be what he/she meant, but the wrist band is not.

Will this watch withstand emp electro magnetic pluse

Since the band is made of genuine leather, it should be able to withstand emp electro magnetic pulse.
