Best!!!
Best thermometer. Our son has a compromised immune system so he tends to get sick a bit more than usual. We have tried many thermometers in the past but keep on coming back to this one. We have even tried expensive ones from CVS and Walgreens and nothing comes close to this. Frm ease of use to accuracy of the reading this is our go to thermometer.

Fast, easy to use and accurate
Having previously tried several ear and forehead thermometers, I had concluded that they were just annoying to use and/or hopelessly inaccurate. Based on some general research, as well as other reviews I decided to give this one a try. I am pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to use - hold it against the center of the forehead, press the button until it beeps and slide gently to the left (or right, I guess) over to the temple. It'll beep a few more times, but is ready to read. I checked it against normal temps and also compared it with some known accurate traditional methods in fever situations; I conclude that it's one of the most accurate thermometers I've owned. The only caveat I would mention is that if the place it's stored is on the chilly side, the readings seem to be more accurate if I take a minute or two to warm it up under a shirt to point where it no longer feels cold to the touch. Not sure why that is, but for me it produced the best results. Overall, highly recommended.

safer alternative to glass thermometers
our youngest is 22, non verbal autistic in diapers, so a regular glass thermometer in the mouth or in the back is a no go for safety reasons. this thermometer fits the need perfectly, it’s quick accurate, and easy to use, pop the cap, push a button and swipe it across the forehead, done. no stress, no danger, and a good value for the money in my book.

Easy to use
Accurate and easy to use. This is our 3rd one in the past 20 years. The others still work, we just needed another one

Great, reliable thermometer.
This has become my go-to thermometer of the 3 different kinds I have at home. It is consistent and reliable. This was recommended to me by a nurse at the children’s hospital

Not easy to use. Lengthy but confusing instructions. Inconsistent results.
Supposedly the forehead-wipe system is very accurate. All I know is that this one tells me I am running a fever when old-school oral thermometers say I am 1 degree below normal. It also gives readings that vary by as much as 2 degrees from one pass to the next. In addition, it is not easy to use. First, even though there are multiple functions, there is only one control button. No doubt some product designer thought this would "keep it simple" but of course it just makes it confusing, to have the same button record a temperature, display memorized temperatures, switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit, and turn a beeper on and off. Second, it is almost impossible to open the battery compartment. I had to pry it with a screwdriver. Third, the "low battery" display is ambiguous and confusing. Fourth, the instructions are difficult to follow. "Scan horizontally over to the hairline" is not helpful, since "hairline" is not well defined and bald people have no hairline at all. A few clear drawings could help, but instead there are tiny photographs which are unclear. And then there are cautionary notes that some may find difficult or inconvenient. Such as not scanning across scar tissue. Too bad if you have a scar on your forehead! And then lastly, because the device seems to measure radiant heat from the forehead, which will vary depending on room temperature, the device has to factor in room temperature, which means you cannot use it immediately after moving it from a cooler environment to a warmer environment. You have to wait about half an hour for it to equilibrate. Add it all up, and this appears to have been designed by techies who didn't refine it for real-world use. And the techies then wrote their own instruction manual. Oh, and the packaging is impossible to open unless you use a knife, which may damage the device inside. I'm going to continue using an old-school oral thermometer.
