They do the main job I bought them for extremely well - they chop through anything I've attempted to cut very easily (meat, fish, vegetables, herbs, spring onions, packaging etc), as well as having little extra features that make them even more useful. In particular I've found the little bits sticking out of the tops of the handles surprisingly handy, in the video they're shown being used to open a can, and I have done this once on a can where the ring pull broke off, but I mainly use them to lever under the edge of jar lids to "pop" the airtight seal, which makes them *so* much easier to open! I have a medical issue which has led to muscle wastage, so jars can be hard to open sometimes, but when I break the seal this way there are very few jars which defeat me! They're also very useful for any other levering tasks around the kitchen (e.g. opening tins with flat "pop out" lids, like golden syrup and custard powder), and without risk of bending the ends of your cutlery or whatever you might use instead! They come apart very easily for cleaning; possibly the only criticism would be that they come apart so easily they sometimes do it when I've just opened them a little too far, but this hasn't been a major issue, as they're so easy to put back together on the rare occasion this does happen. We usually wash them in the dishwasher, but when I've only used them for something like herbs I sometimes just give them a thorough rinse under the tap and they come clean extremely easily. The blades have remained sharp despite them now being almost 2 years old, and they haven't rusted or become stiff to use. The scissors feel extremely sturdy and well made. Highly recommended! They are used daily and have remained as sharp as when new. The 2 halves are designed to easily take apart for thorough cleaning. Love these scissors and am very happy with this purchase. I would replace them with same if I needed to but I would imagine they will last for ages. **Q: What is the country of origin? Is it made in China?** A: My scissors are only marked "livingo". The result of a web search was that livingo scissors are made in China. **Q: Can you re-align the blades after much sharpening?** A: NO **Q: How do people sharpen these? No plastic parts to fail, and easy to take apart to clean properly. They are very sharp even when separated, I accidentally cut myself whilst washing the pots so be careful. The bottle opener also seems to work very well. I have owned for over a year and they are still perfect.
