Customer service at Bedphones is TERRIBLE. This is the ONLY reason I don't give this a 5 star rating (well, and the fact that the left ear stopped working). I bought these in August, and in October, the left ear stopped working. I contacted Bedphones since the return policy through Amazon had expired. Which is fine! The product information that came with the bedphones even said to contact them if there is a problem. I have emailed them several times, and have yet to resolve this issue. The first email convo reassured me that they would take care of it once I supplied the order info, which I immediately did. Then I waited. For a week. No follow up. I emailed them. No answer. I emailed twice a week. No response. Until I threatened to complain to Amazon and write a crummy review. Then the response only gave me some coupon code - no instructions as to what to do with the coupon code. I went back to the bedphone site and read the FAQ's. It says to just send the defective device in. So, I've sent it in with all the emails and the coupon code. Who knows whether I will hear from them again. I paid $44.75 for these, and thought they were well worth it since I can't get comfortable with earbuds. But they need to up their game in the service department - they've got a fantastic product - IF they can keep them working.

I got these hoping for a comfortable pair of headphones to use in bed, based on their name and their reviews. I found them very quiet unless I physically pushed them up against my ears, and the memory wire loops that hold them in place were uncomfortable and dug into my ears no matter how I bent them. The worst part, though, was the repeated shocks of static electricity delivered from the headphones right into my ears. I have returned them and gone back to my Samsung ear buds.

For the last 2 years I’ve been looking for a truly comfortable audio solution for sleeping. I’ve purchased pillows with built-in speakers, several brands of the headband-type audiophones, and Bedphones. They all work, but each has its own quirks. Unfortunately, for me to adequately hear the speaker pillow, the audio can also be heard by my husband, and the sound bothers him. The headband-type with speakers is just too hot to sleep in, they shift around during the night, and they gave me a truly scary case of “hat hair” in the mornings. All brands of the headband-type speakers also developed shorts in the wiring after about 6 months. One of those brands sells replacement speakers separately, but of course they cost almost the full purchase price for the entire product. Unacceptable. I’d been eyeing Bedphones for a while and finally I decided to try them. I love Bedphones. They have flat little speakers with a soft covering, coming off a sturdy, but flexible wire, and once they are properly shaped to your head and ear (there are directions and an on-line video provided to help with this) they will stay in place overnight AND be comfortable. They arrive in a very professional looking case, with net pockets inside containing accessories like extra speaker covers and a high quality sleep mask. Bedphones have gone through several generations of manufacturing and I’ve had both generations 2.0 and 3.0, and experience with their customer service, which is excellent. I hope this information will help others who are considering purchasing Bedphones. My first set of Bedphones (generation 2.0) proved so comfortable that I contacted the customer service department to see if there were any plans for a Bluetooth model for daytime wear - I presumed Bluetooth would require batteries that wouldn’t work for sleeping. I received a response within 24 hours from Stephanie, who is amazing, saying there were no plans for Bluetooth Bedphones just yet. Then, like the headband-type earphones, my Bedphones generation 2.0 developed a short in the wire after about 4 months of nightly use. I contacted Stephanie again, and she immediately arranged for a refund or replacement set. However, I couldn’t wait that long so while she was working on that I ordered another set from Amazon, and these were generation 3.0. The generation 3.0 is “beefier”, yet still very flexible; it’s clear the company is trying hard to produce the best product possible. This set developed a short too, not in the wiring itself, but at the connector which is probably an inherently weak spot... I ordered another set, also generation 3.0, and these had the right and left speakers reversed. I sent a detailed email to Stephanie with all this information, and again she responded very rapidly, with an apology and an offer to replace the Bedphones without my returning them, saying, “However, I'd like to wait a few weeks. As you mentioned, the left and right speaker channels are reversed on our headphones. This was a manufacturer error that we have since corrected. If you don't mind waiting, I'd like to send you new Bedphones once we have our new product in stock. This new product has undergone much more rigorous testing and inspections, and should meet your expectations.” I agreed, meanwhile continuing to use the Bedphones with the reversed speakers, which are still working perfectly otherwise. In a few weeks I received 2 new sets of Bedphones 3.0, one in each color! I checked them to be sure the speakers are correct and they are, so I’m still using the set with reversed speakers every night and I have two new Bedphones in reserve. I’ve ordered and paid for 3 sets, and I have 3 sets, two brand new and perfect. And the company didn’t require mailing everything back to them. (An aside - I MIGHT have a reason for why a short developed in the others – but this is only a theory!!! There is a little piece called a cable slider, intended to be used to cinch the speaker wires to your desired length at the base of your head – anyway, I wonder if this might put extra strain on the wires?? Just a thought, because it’s when I use it that the wires seem to start having problems. But that might be total coincidence, too.) My experience with Bedphones is that the earphones themselves are very comfortable, far more comfortable than anything else I’ve found for sleeping, the customer service department is outstanding (especially Stephanie – thank you, Stephanie!), and the company listens to their customers and is always trying to improve their product. They deserve a lot of credit for continually working to fix any issues that crop up - I'm sure any product like Bedphones which people use when they're actually asleep is going to be subject to some unintentional (but unavoidable) wear and tear, far beyond what most "earbuds" endure. So the ongoing commitment to product improvement is impressive. Oh, and Stephanie recently emailed me this: ”And keep an eye on our brand later this year - we have a bluetooth version coming out soon!” Update 6/27/2016: I'm on my next set of Bedphones, the previous one having recently developed a short. FYI, the Bedphones company has an app that allows you to control various functions from your smartphone.

When I purchased these headphones, I thought I had found exactly what I had been looking for and they were ....until less than three months later the left headphone just stopped working. Unfortunately no matter what I did (thinking it might be a short in the left cord), the headphone remains dead making the headphones unusable. The idea is outstanding and they ARE great WHILE they work but I would not recommend them (at least currently) due to their durability.

I use these for running... not so much for sleeping.... they hurt my ears/head when sleeping.... but I got them for running. They are completely adjustable to fit on your ear however you like. They are not bulky or heavy. The cord is rather thick so it doesn't kink. Can also hear what's going on around you, which is important while running, but can still hear music. Can pause and skip or replay tracks with the inline control.... only thing better would be volume control on the inline control and angled plug to phone/ipod/music device - for that reason I give 4 stars.

Can not sleep in them! I fall asleep with ear buds in..so I thought these would be more comfortable so I ordered them. They look like they would be comfortable but earpiece that looks cushioned is still pretty hard and the stiff but bendable side that goes around your ear is definitely not comfortable...The reason I gave 3 stars is they have decent sound quality as long as you don't need noise isolating feature because you can definitely hear everything and everyone speaking around you. I can't say anything yet about the quality of how long they will work, because I haven't had them very long yet. But the quality feels pretty good, and the case is really nice. Just not comfortable to me at all to sleep in..but very comfortable to wear while awake and not putting pressure on them and your ear by lying on your side. I also would have preferred for everything to be black but the wires are blue...all black would be better choice for me!
