I have been paralyzed from the waist down for 7 years now. Over those 7 years I have purchased 6 shower benches prior to this bench. EVERY one of those benches has been lucky to last me 1 year before having to be thrown out! I have had the ones with cushions and ones with fiberglass seat, and NONE of them has made it a year before they were rusted, cushions split, nasty, and not worth saving. Then I found this shower bench! I was hesitant to spend $300 on a shower bench until my wife reminded me that every other bench I had costed me between 80 and 100 dollars, and they didn't swivel or slide. So I took the plunge and spent the money, and let me say that I am SO GLAD I DID!! This bench is everything that all of my other benches WERE NOT! The rails are REAL aluminum instead of the garbage aluminum plated metal that all of the old benches were made out of! The cushions are solid pieces of heavy duty waterproof foam material instead of the cheap and thin vinyl covered foam/wood cushions which always split after 3-6 months on the other shower benches. I can tell these cushions will last a long time. Even the rubber rail bushings and feet are REAL rubber instead of the cheap grey "rubber" feet used on all the other benches. Basically, I can tell this shower bench was constructed right, with quality materials and was properly engineered to provide a quality product that will last and perform for years. I only wish I had bought this shower bench 7 years ago!! The shower bench comes in a box which almost looks too small to contain the correct product. But I can assure you it does contain the correct shower bench. I was able to put the bench together by myself, from my wheelchair, in about 15 minutes. If you have a helper, or an able bodied person to put it together, you could put it together even quicker. The swivel and slide functions work perfectly, even better than I had expected! I am truly amazed at how well this product looks and functions! When I think back on all of the other shower benches I have wasted good money on, the $300 price tag for this chair is more than reasonable. Especially considering that this chair also swivels and slides! And finally, the people at Platinum Health are extremely courteous and quick to reply, should you need to contact them! When I ordered this product I was without any shower bench, because my previous one had broken in our move, so I was unable to shower at all. I contacted the seller, explaining that I was without a bench, and asked if there was any way they could expedite my order and they responded within a few hours and tried their best to help out. It turns out that they had a warehouse about an hour from where I live, but unfortunately I waited too long to contact them or they could have had it shipped from that warehouse. Even with it shipping from a few states away, it arrived 3-4 days earlier than I had expected! They have even emailed me twice after I received the bench, to ask how my experience has been and if I have any questions or concerns! To sum it up, if you are considering purchasing this product, GO FOR IT! You won't be disappointed! And NO, I DID NOT RECEIVE THIS PRODUCT FOR FREE OR AT A DISCOUNT. I purchased it for full price and had no other incentive, other than necessity, to do so.

Enough reviews are already made for me not to just regurgitate the accolades. I am writing this review specifically if you are heavy, have hip issues and or knee issues. I have all the above. I bought the bench originally for tub use as I did not think anything would work in my shower. It is a medium shower and I am a large person. The toilet is very close to the shower and nothing I could find would work. This chair does. I do not use the back as it VERY EASILY is removable. I have hip and knee issues so a regular bench or chair was quite difficult to use. This chair , for me, is worth the price. That said.. the price is a little steep but I would actually have to buy it even if it were more expensive as there is , for me, nothing else that will work. I am a little over 300 pounds and I feel very secure on the bench, I only can rotate it partially due to the very cramped quarters. I still feel very safe in the bench and the side arms give enough safety to easily rotate and then slide into the shower. Hope this helps. Because of my left hip and right knee I cannot rotate and step over the shower and this chair makes it a breeze. My weight feels very securely supported ( 320 ) so I am very pleased. On another note.. the manufacturer sends many follow up emails offering assistance etc. I did not need any. I was able to easily assemble the chair, while in a wheel chair, unassisted and move it to the shower unassisted and test it. I would suggest getting a special shower curtain to help with containing the water. I did not have the patience to wait so I just modified my shower curtain till I could purchase a specialty one. I purchased the Carousel Sliding Transfer Bench as a replacement for a standard rectangle, no rills shower chair that needed replacing. I am a bone cancer survivor and have been on crutches for over 30 years and have a hard time balancing on one leg the older I get. While the no frills plain seat worked okay, it never felt sturdy. I always felt like I had to worry about the legs splaying out and landing me on my tush....or worse. I'm not an overly large man either. I'm 5'10'' and weigh 190 lbs. I have been on the lookout for a replacement for a few months and finally decided to splurge on something that was not only sturdy, but comfortable as well. Boy, I'll tell you I am so happy with my new sliding transfer shower bench. The thing is very sturdy. The assembly was a breeze. No tools required, you just pop all of the pieces together and then adjust it to fit your tub. I really love the fact that I am able to slide the bench out to the side of the tub and sit down and then swivel and slide into the shower. No more worrying about slipping and falling getting in and out of the shower!!! The seat, arms and back rest are very comfortable as well. Again, I cannot mention enough about how sturdy this is and how safe I felt when using it. I was able to lean back on the backrest with all of my weight so I could lift my legs up to wash my feet. I was never able to do that with the old no frills seat. I had to use a sponge on a stick to reach my feet. I was so comfortable and felt so safe in this chair that I was finally able to enjoy bath time again, No more worrying about falling or getting in and out of the tub. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs assistance with bathing or getting in and out of the tub. While it is a bit pricey, I feel it is worth every penny.

Diabetic with a foot wound so balance is off. Did not have the heart bypass, so dizzy and fall risk is part of life right now. This sturdy, well made chair is life changing for me. Before I had to have aid getting in and out, and sitting down into the tub was just as much a chore as getting out of it. This chair does exactly what it says it will do. It took five mins. to snap it together. It is sturdy with plenty of seat room. You can put the seat belt on it if you need it. I was worried it wouldn't be stable and a waste of money, but you can adjust both ends on the height so the side outside the tub is a bit shorter and the side inside the tub is longer making up for the difference. It was worth every penny. Life changing for me not to have to ask for help to bathe.

Wonderful bath chair to prevent slipping! Purchased this bath chair for my 90+ year old father that had fallen in the shower previously. My husband put this together in a matter of minutes. He is a strong 200 lb muscular guy. He tested it out before my father used it and held him up perfectly. Seat swivels/rotates like a steering wheel, allowing complete turning access, then locks in place. Can be easily unlocked by a button. Half the bench sits inside the tub and half out, allowing person to never have to step in and out of a tub again. You sit down on the chair outside of the tub, turn the chair and lift your legs over the tub. There's a small latch that allows the chair to then slide into the tub on the rails without ever standing up. Comes with a seat belt for added protection. Arm rest can be unlocked and slid upward to give you more room or locked down to give added security. I recently had surgery on my back and will be using this myself to prevent from falling. Downfall is, I have to remove my bathroom shower doors and put up a curtain rod and shower curtain as there's not enough room to swivel the chair with shower doors on to get your legs in. The description does indicate that but I didn't realize how little room I'd actually have until I saw the bench in the small bathroom. A little bathroom changes prevents a harmful fall so it's worth it. This bench is sturdier than I thought it would be. Videos in the description are accurate. Legs on the bench can be easily adjusted to height preference. Can easily be disassembled for travel purposes and quickly reassembled which is nice. I would recommend this to anyone that is at risk of a shower fall with the premise shower doors definitely need to be removed.

I've only had this fantastic device for a couple of weeks. What I have learned is that it is very easy to use. It instills a degree of confidence that even though you may be temporarily handicapped you can still have a degree of independence that is awesome. This device is a well thought out, completely sturdy, method of getting in and out of a shower that is also a bathtub. Because the seat swivels, transferring to the seat is made exceptionally easy. As you approach the seat it is facing out of the bathtub allowing you to transfer as if it were a normal chair. The makeup of this transfer chair is exceptionally sturdy and reliable for your use. It seems that all of the buttons and levers are where they need to be regardless of the potential embarrassment of having to reach between a persons legs in order to trigger the ability to slide the chair in and out of the bathtub. I think the primary users of this chair will be persons that are disabled in some way but can still fend for themselves to one degree or another. I love the independence this transfer chair gives me. I feel it's an exceptional value for the quality and usability it provides. Because I had read several comments that involved the seat being seen as slippery, I purchased some of the tape that can be used as a non slip surface in bathtubs and on stairs. I feel the seat, with the tape, is not slippery at all, even with soap and water being used while on the seat. I definitely give this bathtub transfer chair the five stars it deserves.

I can't say enough good things about this product. It is just what I've been looking for to make shower time with my mama easier and safer. And believe me I did a lot of looking! It's so versatile! It helps every step of the way as far as getting her in and out of the tub. Very nice design! Whoever designed it deserves to be a BILLIONAIRE! It's sometimes hard to find anything that actually helps caregivers. All she has to do is sit down. The adjustable buttons and knobs do the rest. They thought of everything. Height and width adjustments, 360° rotation, comfort, and a seat belt (when needed). Not having to worry anymore about bath time is PRICELESS! Oh, and speaking of the price. It's very small when compared to a walk-in tub. Needless to say, I am VERY HAPPY AND SATISFIED with this product!

Nicely made. Another UK buyer mentioned that they received no reply from the company regarding leg extensions. I had a similar experience. Which prompted me to source aluminium tubes locally. 30 outside diameter by 2mm thick for the horizontal; 28 by 1mm for the legs. Perhaps not 330lb capacity but ok for me. 9mm drill.
