Very Comfortable Well Made Sling
Wearing a sling for 5 weeks wasn't fun, but this sling is a great one, which made it easier!!! It fit well, gave good support and was comfortable! The size chart was helpful as it seemed true to the measurements. It was pretty easy to put on and the velcro made it easy to adjust. The padding inside was soft and didn't wear down. The strap on my left side was also very comfortable. The hospital had given me a very cheaply made, flimsy sling. I'm so glad that I was prepared with this one. It was definitely worth the money!

Excellent sling
Well I am no expert on slings, but I suffered a broken shoulder two weeks ago and I have learned a few things since. I was discharged from the ER with a sling. The nurse candidly noted that it was not a very good one and I could buy a better one. So when I got home I started my Amazon research. I read reviews and this one stood out, primarily because it did not dig into the neck. The one I got from the ER was instantly annoying my neck. I was hesitant to buy it because some reviews noted that it was complicated to put on and that you would need assistance, and I am 74 years old. But other reviews included some very helpful videos so I thought I could manage it myself. I was not going to get help from home with this due to my husbandโs own health issues. So, first, I got it the very next day. Fantastic! Within about 24 hours of getting home from the ER with the crappy sling I had my new sling. Thanks to the helpful videos, I was able to put it on myself without any big problem. It was instantly more comfortable than the ER sling. It is padded and soothing. The cradle portion for the elbow extends far up the arm and has a warming and swaddling effect. The one from the ER (and a mesh I bought for showering but did not like ) felt like they cut into the back of my upper arm (as well as my neck) This sling has an extra strap that hangs down your back when you put the primary (nicely padded) strap over your shoulder. If you make sure not to get it tangled, you reach back with your good arm and grab it and wrap it around your waist/rib area in front and attach it to the sling with the Velcro tip. It holds your arm against your body which aids with immobilization and also has a swaddling effect. I loosen it for sleep. It has been two weeks now and Iโm so glad I got this. My last x ray showed no movement of the fracture so itโs doing its primary job of immobilizing the bone so it can heal. There is a small strap that goes over your arm near the elbow that keeps it cradled and an adjustable wrist strap that raises or lowers your hand to a position where you are comfortable. Pulling down in the back strap before you fasten it also affects how high your wrist sits against your body The Velcro closures on the straps can be a bit of a nuisance and attach to stuff where you donโt want them to attach but itโs pretty easy to get the hang of sticking them to a part of the sling so that they are out if your way til you are ready to fasten them where you want them. All in all Iโm so pleased with this sling. Iโm enduring my first broken bone and I think this sling has made a difficult situation a bit more livable. Update from newest X Ray on June 3. No movement of the fracture. So the sling is definitely doing its job. Update as of six weeks from injury: My latest X ray showed no movement of the fracture so this sling did its job and I was advised to stop wearing it (and move on to more intensive PT). In retrospect, getting a sling that kept my minimally displaced fractured shoulder stable probably made this about the most important to-wear item I have ever bought. Thanks to Amazon for making this sling available and for providing space for all of the reviews for this and other similar products to help with what turned out to be an important decision that had to be made under the less than ideal shopping conditions of pain, trauma and no opportunities for try on rooms and easy comparisons

More comfortable than most!
I took one star off because the shoulder strap is not adjustable it was too long to support my arm but it was easy enough to sew it shorter the picture shows how much I had to take it up it was a lot! But the sling works well itโs comfortable and easy too put on and off. I donโt know why so many people think itโs confusing I didnโt even need the directions itโs pretty obvious. Itโs well made and should hold up over time

The answer to the best sling
This is a life saver. I broke my shoulder and needed to immobilize my arm. The โgoodโ slings out tension in my neck and had too much pulley movement around my neck. This sling stablizes and immobilizes while spreading the tension away from my neck. Great support, great fit, comfortable arm and shoulder position. Thank you!

thee MOST comfortable close-bodied adjustable sling
oh. my. gosh I LOVE THIS SLING I went to the er today- what they gave me was the cheapest of thw cheapest I ordered this- I must say the difference is night and day. I wore the er sling most of the day fighting and struggling, and in pain- I put this on and it was gone im 5'8.5 160 lbs big ole floppies- this sling is so comfortable and tight to the body, I feel no pain and its super adjustable meaning you can Velcro the strap any which way you need it- also the thumb strap has the same adjustability so dont worry if it doenstnfit out the box- you can adjust it one end.of the strap had velcro along the inside I thought that was so nice- I was about to cut it off but realized ITS ADJUSTABLE you wont be sorry I bought a medium and im glad I did I needed a SNUG FIT for my grade 3 ac tare

Very comfortable for my husband. Much better than the sling given to him at the Hosp hospital
My husband fractured his collarbone and he was given a flimsy fabric sling from the hospital which was very uncomfortable around his neck and did not provide any secure feel. He really likes that this one has a feature in the back to allow some pressure to be taken off from around the neck and then with the Velcro enclosure around the waist it keeps his arm snug and secure. The fabric mesh is very comfortable as well and with the breathable holes it makes it not get too hot. It's a bit tricky learning how to put it on by yourself but another gentleman made an excellent video of how to do it by yourself.

Very good fit, lack of adjustability
My wife had left shoulder replacement surgery this week. Two days after the surgery, the sling provided by the surgeon was falling apart and irritating her neck. We decided to see if we could find a better one. This one has two positives - it fits much better and does not go around her neck, and its quality is much better. Why only 3 stars? As others have said, adjustability is very limited. My wife is 4' 11" and 120 pounds, so I ordered a small based on the length of her arm from elbow to palm. This one fits her, but if she was the slightest bit bigger, the 3 straps would not adjust to fit her. On something as critical as a sling for shoulder replacement, adjustability is critical. The other negative is the provided directions. To switch from right arm to left arm, the directions say to disconnect the Velcro from the plastic buckle on the sleeve, reverse it, then run it back through the buckle. Only problem? There is no Velcro at that point. Evidently, they changed the design to a swivel buckle, and the instructions were not updated to reflect the new design. So, if fit is not a big concern, this is a very good sling. If you're worried about adjustability, look somewhere else.

Very comfortable!
The hospital sling cut into my neck... even after buying a lamb's wool cover for it. This sling distributes the weight over your shoulders and back. So much more comfortable to sleep in. A little difficult to set up, but worth the effort.

It's a great immobiliser sling. Worked well for me after shoulder surgery. Unfortunately it took a longer than promised time to arrive.

Untrustworthy reseller.
The seller advertised about velpeau sling, which according to him would support my shoulder my shoulder injury, but sent me a totally different caretex brand arm sling which was of cheap quality and did not serve the purpose. For this I waited for one week, but Thank you Amazon, you understood my plight and agreed to refund the amount and I sent it back to the reseller. Don't trust the reseller.
