Exceptional game.
I’m surprised by the negative reviews for this game, particularly those which complain about realism and implausible match results. All game experiences are subjective of course, but I’ve found that the game plays very well (having not bought FIFA for a while), and compares acceptably with PES. I agree that goalkeepers have a tendency to be beaten too easily at the near post, but otherwise they perform reasonably well and usually restrict excessive scoring. Passing is fine if it’s controlled well, and I like having greater control over defending; it reduces the incidence of goals that the user is powerless to prevent (a bugbear of mine with previous versions of the game; this was the reason that outcomes often felt “scripted”). I’ve found that adjusting the sliders in the gameplay settings on higher skill levels (there are plenty of online suggestions about how to do this) produces games which look and feel reasonably realistic with plausible outcomes and scores. My experience is that the game is very immersive and I would recommend it to anyone who is willing to be open-minded about it. A definite five stars.

It's FIFA....
Decent upgrade on FIFA 20. Graphically it is good, on a par with last year's game. I think some of the facial scans have been slightly upgraded for some players and possibly some more have been added. One thing I did notice is that the colour of the turf now seems to be a strange kind of greenish brown, it's a minor thing but it seems slightly odd. Game play is much the same. There does seem to be improved AI however, with more intelligent players. Defending appears more realistic, there doesn't seem to be the old scenario where you try a standing tackle, player does a big lunge, misses the ball then somehow can't recover, while the AI just play through you and usually score. I'm glad EA seem to have fixed this. Commentary wise, they have ditched Martin Tyler and Alan Smith, with Derek Rae and Lee Dixon taking over for all the games, rather than just the Champions/Europa League. While I sort of agree that the Tyler/Smith commentary was getting a bit tired, I think they should have replaced them with maybe an Alan Parry/Gary Neville combo or something like that - anyway again, it's a minor complaint. Focusing on the career mode, they have added some long overdue features. You can now set weekly schedules of training and rest days between matches. You can also now re-train players to play in a different position. When you simulate matches, you can either watch the match play out (from a top down view with dots for players, like an old school management game) where you have the option to jump in and physically play the game at any point or you can skip straight to the result. All in all some decent extra features that add a bit more depth, but still nowhere near as in depth as it could be. For years people have complained about the lack of features in career mode and it feels like these features have just been tacked on to try and keep those people quiet. I don't think it will be long before people see through it. The tedious animations for pre and post match interviews are still present, where it's obvious which answers to give in order to boost the team's/player's morale. Its the same questions over and over again as before. All in all, while far from EA hitting a home run with this release, it's not a bad game and in terms of football, it's about the only choice we have unless you want to stick with last year's PES and their roster update. Will be interesting to see what improvements are made (if any) when this is ported to the next generation of consoles.

Good game
My last Fifa game was 2018. I enjoy the update. I much prefer the new career mode and the depth of options in many aspects (training, contracts, simulations, transfers etc.) I also started playing online on Fifa Fut. It is good but a I find that I much prefer the career mode. The online version feels like a constant rush to get better player cards etc. Also, not being a fantastic player, the online matches do feel very hard, not sure how the skill/level match ups are done but the players I encounter seem several levels above mine.

Great on the PS5
Bought and played Fifa for many years now and after playing this on the Ps5 I am impressed with this latest edition. The graphics are glorious on a 4k TV and the Ps5 controller plays well too. I particularly enjoy ultimate team which I have played for many years and find quite addictive. I would also say it's one of the few games that is great to play alone or with friends. Overall EA sports have done it again with another great football game for the next generation!

Wonderful product and great service
This was bought as a gift for a friends Sons as a thankyou for all the lifts their dad gave my husband. He will not take money so wanted to do something nice in return. He has since told us that once his sons are up, he hears nothing from them. Apparently peace reigns! No problems with it, came all wrapped and quick delivery and would definitely buy again.
