Perfect Size for Moka Pot & Quick Heating
I was looking for something compact that heats up fast and doesn’t take up much space, this hot plate is perfect, especially for my moka espresso pot. It heats quickly and distributes heat evenly, so my coffee comes out smooth without that burnt taste. I wouldn’t recommend it for large pots, but for small uses like coffee, tea, or light heating, it works great. Definitely keep it away from children, as it gets very hot. On the first use it did smoke and smell a little, but that’s normal and went away quickly. The overall quality is excellent, and I’m very happy with it. Highly recommend if you need a small, reliable hot plate.

Ideal for Moka Pot, in Small Spaces
Only had it for a week, but used it 3-4 times already. Product guide/instructions say to turn on burner (with a pot of water on it) outside and let it heat for 15 minutes to 'burn off' the coating, which emits a plasticky smell- left mine going for 20 minutes and the next time I used it, a faint unpleasant odor remained- by the 3rd or 4th use, it was mostly gone. However, the burner works great for my moka pot (the only reason I bought it): I'm sipping 4-5 ozs of delicious espresso within 5 minutes of turning on the unit. It's labeled "Off 1 2 3 4 5" and I've found a suitable 'medium heat' (for coffee brewing) at slightly less than 3. Small and im assuming portable, but it has earned a permanent spot on my counter, as long as it lasts (which remauns to be seen, given the caveat in the first line of the review)

A perfect coffee warmer that really works!
If you're not satisfied with your cup warmer, then get this hotplate. I like my coffee hot start to finish and this little hotplate goes above and beyond! I keep it just below it's lowest number one setting and measured my coffee temp at 160 degrees. The best coffee warmer out there says it can reach that temp, but it doesn't keep coffee hot for long periods. I spent $30 on the top of the line warmer and only $20 for this hotplate and it blows all other warmers out of the water! Just be careful how you use it. The highest setting will boil water and the plate can get glowing red. The only thing I wished was different was better markings on the side to see what setting your on and an automatic shutoff after a certain time. I used some bright fingernail polish to mark the spot I want to keep it set on. Num one setting is a bit too hot and I set it just below the number one for my preference. It does sit up kinda high so I made and screwed a small tray under my end table beside my recliner for the perfect height. May not be for some people, but if you want really hot coffee, this little baby is amazing!

Great For Moka Pot
There are two drawbacks to this burner. 1. Is the smell. I use this to make Moka Coffee. Setting 4 or 5 for 7 minutes. I followed the directions and boiled water for 30 minutes before using inside. For at least a week it still had a small bit of that burnt oil smell by two weeks it had all burnt off. What I'm not sure about is if someone is using it just to keep coffee warm would that Oil Burn off? 2. I wish that when you turn it on and off that it had a click. It's minor but a click would help to make sure that it's off. Otherwise it heats up quick and is the perfect size for my Moka Pot.

Excellent desktop piece of tech! Heat distribution is contained pretty much to the unit and burner.
There's nothing bad that I can say about this unit actually the thing works like it's advertised and the heat distribution is contained to the unit and barely is above room temperature 4 inches away from the cook plate or surfaces and you can totally use this on your office desk to boil water cook food thing is great I cannot brag enough about this unit great job excellent unit just saying guys and I'm not just trying to promote a product here what I'm trying to tell you if you're going to pick up what I'm putting down here this is the best electric burner I have ever had! Follow the directions and safety protocols but the cord doesn't get hot like this is the perfect unit for me and when I'm in the man cave I can just have this sitting here on my desk and I can boil water make coffee tea macaroni and cheese cook steaks anything right on this burner and I'm not worried about it causing fire or anything like that but just keep the cord unplugged when you're not using it cuz that's in the safety instructions. But the way they designed this unit and whatever they did to make this thing work the way it does it's great and I'm going to order several more of these just to have his back up So eventually when this one quits I'll still have a continuous Supply well into my '80s. Get your hands on this device. I wanted to add a little bit more now that I've been using it for quite a while it really is an excellent little burner and the heat is contained within a small area so I even have it underneath a plastic table top about 18 in and the heat doesn't do anything even warm the plastic and as for the sides of it the heat only extends about 3 inches away and it's not intense I can hold my hand about an inch and a half away from it for about 20 seconds before it gets a little too hot but yet the thing will boil water. It's really a great device I recommend it highly!

Powerful and durable
I have used this small hotplate for coffee cup & contents for a bit more than a year. No problems at all. Reheats my coffee to piping hot on a setting of just 1.5 out of 5 (the hottest). You could definitely cook food on it. I recommend this hot plate.

Absolutely great! It was very well packaged and it came in perfect condition. It did its job very well! My espresso coffee maker was boiling which really surprised me, I absolutely recommend this hot plate.

It performs well but it literally stinks
This little hot plate does it's job just fine. It gets hot and does so relatively quickly. But that's really all the nice things I have to say about it. The biggest complaint: it STINKS. I has a VERY strong chemical odor emanating from the power cord. The rubber sheathing of the power cord clearly wasn't properly vulcanized or wasn't fully cured (whatever process was used). It's been sitting in my garage for 2 weeks and it's still the first thing I smell when I walk into the garage. There is absolutely zero chance I would want to use it inside the house. I'm hoping that eventually the rubber/plastic cord will finish off-gassing and be tolerable to be around. The overall build quality and quality of materials are both disappointing. The temperature control dial still has a 1/4" long piece of plastic sprue from the injection molding process attached to it; completely obvious and completely missed by quality control (if they have any). The stainless steel ring that makes up the body of the device discolored with the first use of the unit. The instructions tell you to boil a pot of water for 15-20 minutes on your first use to burn off manufacturing grease and warns not to turn it on without a pot on the burner or it can discolor the stainless. I have only ever used it to boil water and not even on it's highest setting yet it still discolored. Then there's the burning off the grease break in period. No cooking product that is made with quality materials needs to be shipped with a greasy coating to prevent rust while shipping. If it needed the grease, it was inferior materials that will eventually rust once the grease is cooked off. All that in addition to the noxious fumes from burning that junk off. I would not purchase this again and if I had saved the box I would have sent it back.
