They are small but I think they are too large for a normal size Barbie. They are 2" long and 1/2" diameter.

I guess it depends on the length of your hair. My mother's hair is short, and they give her the tight curls she wants.

Are these rollers easy to sleep in. I am 75 years old.

I'm 71 years old. I do sleep on them sometimes. However, I do use a small "beanie" pillow which makes it a whole lot easier. The pillow just conforms around the rollers..........
