If there was a solution and I didn’t know it, that’s on me, but I washed it multiple times and heated it without the batter in it just to get rid of the smell. Now that we have been using it for months, the smell is gone and we are very happy about it if you buy this just find a way to get rid of the smell in a different way.

**Q: How tight is the seal? I use a low-carb batter that's very thin and wonder if it would stay inside this unit until cooked.**
A: My batter was krustz brand & was reg.thin ,if batter is too thick it does not flow to bottom of unit & gets stuck in top of unit .

**Q: How many times can one say 'actually' in a product video?**
A: Its actually true 😁

**Q: Can you make other things besides waffles? Like sandwiches & hot dogs.**
A: On the home shopping channel, they demonstrate this by baking not only waffles, but cake mix, corn bread mix, grilled cheese sandwiches, and canned biscuits.  I don't think hot dogs would work though.

**Q: Can someone please tell me how many ounces the enclose scoop is exactly. I lost mine :-(**
A: I tried 3/4 and waffle came up short lol. I just used 1 cup measurement and it came out perfect. I also lost the cup

I normally don’t write reviews, but decided to with this one. I had had about 3 previous waffle makers. Decided to try the standing one. Not sorry I did. I feel it’s the best maker out there. No oil or spray needed before making waffle, beeps when heated and waffle is done. Cleanup is easy. I make a lot of waffles so this is great. The only thing I would change is the design of the measuring cup it comes with. You should be able to see the lines better for amount of batter you put in, also should have a pour spout so it goes into center of maker easier. I would highly recommend this maker to anyone who loves Belgian waffles as much as we do. Thank you for this wonderful product.
