iFixit Magnetic Project Mat - Rewritable Magnetic Work Surface for Electronics, Phone, Laptop Repair

Very useful! Good quality, I just wish I would’ve discovered this sooner. Using the iFixIt precision screwdriver kit’s sorting lid to organize a device’s screws works ok but only up to a certain point. If you find yourself undertaking say a complete iPhoneXS Max back housing replacement or similar it’s very easy to lose track of the order and placement of the many assorted screws’ and their varied thread pitches, widths, lengths and bit types. This makes that daunting task a lot less daunting more like a breeze. It even allows you to make important notes so if you have to take a break or pause the project & come back later time or date you can be reminded of stuff you’ll inevitably forget especially if it may take several days or weeks to resume the project. Genius product and totally necessary for taking apart complicated electronics. If you think you are going to remember where 100 tiny screws went - think again. This mat determines if your project ends up in frustration and cursing or high fives. It is NECESSARY !!! Just buy it. I see that look in your eye... you think you are gonna save a few bucks and get by with your keen memory of where all the screws go - NOPE - JUST STOP - buy this now. Thank me later.

This is the Pro version of the mat! There is a lower end unit of the iFixit Project Mat that some people were concerned that they had received. So I wen to the iFixit website which states that there are three differences between the Pro and Standard version. Pro Notes: (per iFixit website) The Pro version of the Magnetic Mat has a non-slip foam backing, and features a much more powerful magnet making it ideal for larger screws and metal objects. It is also .105" in thickness compared to the Standard at 0.035". The mat I received DOES HAVE the non-slip foam backing and is exactly 0.105" in thickness. I LOVE THIS ITEM! I have been taking apart a lot of Wii's and projectors lately which both have a lot of screws. It is nice to be able to draw out a diagram or write a note as to where the screws go and any issues I encountered. My only wish is that the mat was much larger. It is 8"x10" and I would love for it to be, I don't know. 11"x17". That way I could draw more detailed diagrams or have two projects going at once. However, the size did not lessen the number of stars I gave it because trying to organize screws before this was nigh impossible! So thanks to iFixit, once again, for their GREAT product!

I was surprised that it's only slightly bigger than a sheet of typing paper. I had wrongly assumed that you put the laptop on this to work on it, but it's perfect if you are working on a phone. It's to hold small parts and screws and it does do this well. The pen is nice and writes well and the magnetic mat holds tiny screws and parts well. Writing on the mat can be cleaned off with a tissue. It seems a bit overpriced for what it is.

This is a very nice magnetic project mat. The anti slip backing works well and the entire mat is a little flexible. So far the pen and writing surface works well and erases cleanly. Works well for tiny screws and small metal puzzle pieces like in Metal Earth models kits. For the Metal Earth kits it makes it reasonable to clip out the parts and organize them on this mat to save time referring to the part diagram over and over.

This works well to help keep your pieces organized while doing repairs. The marker arrived dry and unusable. Small containers with lids would be a welcome addition.

I love ifixit and I have used their website and some of their other tools over the last few years when repairing and upgrading many different items. This mat is another great tool for keeping track of all the screws and other little parts that are in todays electronic devices. The pen that came with my mat was completely dried out though. I did not contact ifixit or return the item to Amazon since I starting using the mat immediately. I ordered a 4 pack of the same markers in different colors from Amazon and they work very well. Even when I do not write on the mat during a project I love that it holds things in one place on my work bench. Another reviewer commented that they thought the item was the pro version since the vendor sells the pro model on their website for the same price. I ordered this before that reveiw was posted but realized from the description that this was the non-pro model when I purchased it. I do not fault ifixit for the price difference. Using Amazon to fulfill orders is not free for the vendor. That is why you will often find price differences on certain items when they use Amazon fulfillment. All I can say is read the descriptions carefully and buy directly from the vendor when ordering multiple units since the shipping plus the item cost will probably be cheaper. If you want it fast or want the simplicity that Amazon ordering offers, you can be thankful like I am that the vendor made this item available directly from Amazon warehouses.

El produto es perfecto. He leído algunos comentarios sobre si había que retirar el plástico transparente que lo cubre o que si tenía burbujas....pero el que yo he recibido viene perfecto. El plástico NO hay que retirarlo. Es un producto perfecto para organizar todos aquellos tornillos pequeños o piezas metálicas que retiras en cualquier reparación, ya sea de un teléfono, ordenador, etc. El imán los retiene sin que se pierdan, rueden etc... A demás incluye un rotulador de muy buena calidad para escribir sobre la alfombrilla magnética y ayudarte en la organización, pudiendo borrarlo después con el borrador incluido en el rotulador. En cuanto al tamaño he leído comentarios que opinaban que era pequeño, pero en mi opinión es una medida bastante acertada. Creo que el precio elevado del producto queda justificado por la calidad del mismo. iFixit tiene productos de calidad y a la larga es una buena inversión. Recomiendo su compra si eres una persona a la que le gusta tener perfectamente ordenado todos los elementos que vas retirando en el proceso de reparación/mejora de un producto electrónico.

Die iFixit Magnetic Project Mat hat meine Arbeit bei Elektronikreparaturen (überwiegend Smartphones und Tablets) erheblich vereinfacht. Sie eignet sich nicht nur für Profis, sondern auch für Hobbybastler und Anfänger. Der Preis ist zwar recht hoch, angesichts der Qualität und Funktionalität dieses Produkts aber gerechtfertigt.. Die iFixit Magnetic Project Mat ist ein nützliches Werkzeug, das die Arbeit immens erleichtert. Es ist zwar auch ohne solch eine Matte möglich zu arbeiten, wer aber schon einmal Schrauben oder andere Teile verloren hat, weiß diese Matte aber sicherlich zu schätzen. Die Kombination aus hochwertiger Verarbeitung, großer Funktionalität und dem praktischen Stift macht sie zu einem unschätzbaren Helfer für alle, die gerne selbst Hand anlegen. Ich kann sie nur wärmstens empfehlen!

Il tappetino è di ottima fattura ed è magnetizzato in maniera ottima: riesce senza problemi a tenere le viti in posizione ma anche plate protettive e addirittura componenti piccoli. Estremamente comoda la possibilità di scrivere e classificare le parti. Assolutamente consigliato per qualunque riparazione che richiede precisione ed ordine.
