Question 2

The neck strap is cutting into my neck. Is there another shoulder pad option to spread the pressure out?

Yes, it's only been 2 weeks of the 6 I have to wear this 24/7, and it's been killing my neck and very irritating. Strap keeps twisting and scratches my skin. Sad I have to go buy something to help this expensive sling.

Question 3

The sling is causing my elbow to be sore. There is a hard spot in the sling that is rubbing my elbow and making it very sore. Anyone else have this?

Accepted Answer

Yes, I had the same problem, and solved it with a small, soft microfiber cloth folded into a 6" square and placed in the elbow portion of the sling.  This provided enough soft padding for my elbow to stop being rubbed raw.

How is the model iii different from the model ii?

It's lighter weight and somewhat cooler. I did find it a little bit rougher inside than the model 2 but still preferred the model 3. As long as my skin was covered, the roughness was not a problem. All slings are uncomfortable, but the model 3 was less so. I wouldn't give you 10 cents for a box car load of model 2's. I hated that thing and wanted to light it on fire, stomp on it and throw it off of a cliff. I'm having a little fun here, but seriously, anyone who has had to wear one of these for two month after shoulder surgery knows what I mean. They will drive you ca-ra-zee and even a small improvement can make a big difference.
