Happy with my purchase it's a good basic trackpad
The touchpad is exactly as advertised. Very basic features, and plug & play. The gestures work fine; however, I only use double finger up and down for scrolling and single tap for click. The left and right buttons have a nice clicky snap to them that gives it nice feedback whenever you interact with them. And the surface area your fingers interact with to move the cursor has a slight texture but nothing significant. It's not smooth like glass but not rough like sand paper. For the price it meets my expectations. My hands are quite bad and I can't use a traditional mouse. I prefer this over a trackball style setup and would recommend it to anyone in my situation. I'll admit the one thing I forgot is that there's no middle mouse button, but that seems common among all trackpads and just highlights my oversight during pre-purchase.

Both sizes are "good", neither is "great".
I've tried both sizes in this listing (Amazon seems to combine the reviews). Neither is "great" but they are some of the only affordable USB wired touchpads I could find (wireless will not meet my needs). I've mitigated the one complaint I had with the bigger touchpad by affixing 3D printed "U" shape plastic around the lower button area using double-sticky tape, this makes it significantly easier to use by eliminating the accidental clicks while keeping the buttons easy to find and operate. If I can find a way to get used to or mitigate the height/thickness it would be perfect. Big Touchpad - I got this one first... Pros: +Large, easy to use surface +Large easy to press buttons +Wired USB - reliable, no batteries to worry about, no interference +Works with built-in drivers on Windows and Linux Cons: -Buttons not "protected" by a frame, too easy to bump when pointing/typing -Too tall (nearly 3/4 inch) Small Touchpad - Second touchpad I tried: Pros: +Good height/thickness +Buttons protected by frame edge +Wired USB - reliable, no batteries to worry about, no interference +Works with built-in drivers on Windows and Linux Cons: -Too many edge gestures, too easy to accidentally trigger -Buttons are smaller, harder to find/press -Difficult to drag, buttons are small and hard to hold with thumb operating one-handed -Small usable touch area, makes navigating multi-monitor difficult

Just a very frustrating device in a few minor ways
First, this track pad does work. It connects, and the built in Windows mouse settings functionality is compatible. But this is not a well made device. The cursor skips around the screen, and the track pad itself is not very sensitive. There is also an issue where the rubber feet are uneven. This seems like a minor issue but when this thing rattles and shifts slightly every time you touch it, that is infuriating. Unless you very badly need a track pad mouse, I can not recommend this device.

Amazing product, easy to use, can change scroll directions
This touchpad perfectly suits my needs and surpasses my expectations. I use it with my Windows 10 Dell laptop (docked, lid closed) with an external keyboard and mouse because I also wanted access to a touchpad. The Peripad-504 was immediately recognized as a “mouse” upon connecting with no additional action required. It works wonderfully. Since I also use a Mac with a Magic Trackpad (which I absolutely love), and the scroll directions on Mac are opposite the scroll directions on Windows, I found some instructions on the internet for how to edit the Windows registry to “FlipFlop” the scroll directions for the Peripad-504 to match my Mac. Extremely happy with this touchpad.

forced gestures and windows thinks its a mouse
the hardware is perfect. the size, shape, and color are perfect. the texture, sensitivity, and accuracy are perfect. the physical clicky buttons feel perfect. but windows recognizes the touchpad as a mouse and not a touchpad, so there are no options to toggle gestures, especially tap to click. so every couple seconds my mouse just does stuff at random why would you put tap to click on a peripheral which has its own physical clicky buttons? i wouldnt buy a touchpad with physical clicky buttons if i wanted tap to click. why add terrible " innovative" features which cannot be toggled? why not make official drivers to do that when you have them for your other products? better yet, why not make windows recognize your touchpad as a touchpad so all these options are provided by my own OS? im using a different touchpad right now which was recognized as such and so windows let me turn off that stuff very easily i am so, so disappointed.

Returned
Returned after one day. The touchpad was finicky, imprecise, and slow to respond. It was difficult getting it to sit on top of whatever it was I was trying to click on.

Like operating a laptop
I find this better than using a mouse. Since purchasing this touch pad I can have the ability of working on my laptop like I usually do. I love this a lot.

Perixx would have had a homerun only if they made this touchpad larger
My specific use case for purchasing and using this device is to use it on a Chromebox. Overall, the device works as advertised. The surface has a very light sandpaper-like feel to it that helps your fingers to move and scroll the touchpad. If Perixx had decided to increase the dimensions of this touchpad by 25 to 30 percent, I think this would be a much more popular touchpad to use. In its current state, the touchpad is functional, but you will discover that your fingers want to be accustomed to a larger touchpad space.
