This stuff works!
Used this on some old shoes and it worked amazingly well. Adhesive quality was far better than I expected. The shoes went from being trash to usable again. Very pleased.

Restoring New Life To An Old Jacket
I'm VERY HAPPY with this product. I have a very high-quality but very old leather jacket - about 25 years old! Over time the leather has become very dried out and developed a couple of small tears - about 1/2 inch long. Also there were a couple of pocket flaps made of two layers of leather sewn together, and they were coming apart where sewn together. Sad to say, because of it's ratty condition, I retired this jacket years ago and was going to throw it in the trash several times.......but I just couldn't do it. It was just so much heavier and better than the "fashion" leather jackets commonly found today. So I finally decided to try a repair! I purchased some Tandy Leather Weld from Amazon along with an assortment of random leather scraps in various colors. Luckily a couple of the leather scrap pieces were exactly the same color as my brown jacket. I opened the pocket flap seams and spread Leather Weld in the gap, then clamped the seam together with a couple of those spring clips from the stationery store, I also cut small, maybe 3/4" square, pieces of the leather scraps, stuffed a cut piece in each of the tears using the eraser end of a pencil, stuck the nozzle of the Leather Weld bottle in the hole and spread some of the glue inside, then pressed the repair together. I did the same thing where a seam where the sleeve joined the body of the jacket. Any ofthe Leather Weld that squeezed out of any of the repairs wiped off easily with a damp paper towel. So far the repairs are holding. I've now purchased a bottle of leather conditioner to see if I can't waterproof it and restore some of the dried-out oils that are missing.

The BEST Leather Glue!!
No smell, super strong bonding power, eco friendly!! Being new to leather work, I did a thorough search for the best leather glue. I only wanted to buy 1: do it right the 1st time. The findings came down to this product and Barge's which my leather vendor in the fashion district uses. Barges comes in a huge pot and smells really strong. This product was the alternative, and it had great reviews from leather forums (the experts & serious crafters), small quantity, no smell, and eco friendly. It was a no brainer. It works great!!! "When you have a hammer everything looks like a nail." Well, let's just say I've not only made a bunch of great leather items but I've repaired 3 pairs of shoes including friends'. I've even glued back tiny metal studs on heels. Works absolutely great!! I tried it first on a test piece of leather. After clamping and drying for 24hrs, when I tried peeling the 2 pieces apart, it would tear the leather before it would come apart, so this stuff is great! 10/10 Would recommend. 10/10 Would but again.

Great for my Jacket!
The glue worked great. Had a 3" "V" shaped tear in a very light weight leather jacket. I tested it on other stuff first. There were some significant scuffs on the jacket that I also tested it on and they were held down just great. The glue dried a lot quicker than I anticipated. If you are looking for the seam, you can find it but casual appearance is excellent. That is likely due to my inexperience and lack of detail when I glued it. I don't sit on the jacket and would wonder about a chair but for the jacket it worked great. I would highly recommend this product for similar types of fixes.

I highly recommend Leather Weld!
I am a seamtress and was replacing the zipper in a leather jacket when the leather, which was thin near the bottom from the zipper being pulled many times, pulled apart, creating a tear. I looked at many products and their reviews to find something that would repair the tear without being noticeable. The reviews on this product were positive so I tried it. It did an excellent job. I use a piece of painters tape to put the tear back together on the right side and then put the leather weld on the back and a piece of duck cloth as a reinforcement for the area. I put weight on it for several hours to make sure it was set and you can not hardly tell there was a tear at all. It just looks like normal grain in the leather. After this, I found that this particular leather was very difficult to sew and since the leather weld repaired the tear so well, I decided to try it for setting the zipper. I did small areas and then applied weight for a few hours, so it was time consuming, but the result is a firmly set zipper and a neat outcome. I never imagined I would set a zipper with an adhesive rather than sewing but this product actually worked. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work on heavier fabrics as well.

Dried clear and about three times FASTER than I expected!
It worked great for a Halloween costume. Dried clear, which was critical because I was gluing it on something where it would inevitably seep through some holes. No one could see it at all because it dried so well. I was surprised by how fast it dried too! I expected it would take me days to glue each piece and part. I wound up finishing the project about three days early because the gluing process went so well with this Tandy stuff. I've worked with tons of glue before and this is one of my favorites now. I ordered a second bottle because it was so good.

Must be old
Must be old stock. Opened bottle and the contents were solid. Kind of hard to apply glue when it's hard as rubber.

Great cement, bonds quickly and leaves room for error
Really good leather cement...bonds leather way faster than you might think, but also light enough that you can pull it apart if you need to. Also not a big issue if you get it on hands or clothes, it has the same consistency as Elmer's glue. The only thing that sucks is the top gets clogged no matter what you do, so you'll end up having to unscrew it and use a paint brush handle or something to apply it.
