Is there an expiration date for this bear spray?

Yes! My recent purchase exp on 07/2019. Some places rent bear spray in Canada.

How many seconds of spray will the 7.9 oz and 9.2 oz cans discharge in a single, continuous use, without pause or shaking?

According to the manufacturers site the "High emission system releases the maximum product (1.84 oz per second) to provide optimal protection"So the 9.2 oz can will spray for 5 seconds.The 7.2 oz can should spray for 3.9 seconds.This of course assumes the 1.84 oz spray per second applies to both size cans.

Will this work on an alligator?

Wait a minute !!!!!!!!! The question asked was about an alligator. The product being” Sabre Frontiersman Bear Spray”. Ok so far? The answer by Preston says......... I would not buy this product, you would be bear food, the bear would simply think you were a spicy human. I’m I not getting something here? This product is to deter bears and Preston’s telling me not to by this product? Something I’m missing in his answer? Other than not to buy it.

Can this be taken into Canada

Are you certain this cannot be taken to Canada? Looking online the exact same product is sold in Canada. If it can't be taken into Canada I'm returning it as that is why I bought it.
