I just recently ran out of my go-to exfoliant, the Boscia exfoliating powder (which retails for around $30), and must say that I'm surprised and delighted to find that my experience with this scrub is comparable at a third of the price. Texturally, the scrub is quite thick and goes on my face evenly, creating a rich lather without too much trouble. Given how thick the formula is, I only need to use a dime sized dollop or so to cleanse my face. As such, I suspect this tube is going to last me a long while which is another plus. The exfoliant is subtle but effective. I have sensitive skin, which a lot of exfoliants can irritate, but this one refreshes the skin without causing redness, drying, or breakouts. It is lightly scented, but the scent is more of an afterthought than anything. I like it. If you have very oily skin, you could definitely use this scrub every day. However, for those with dry or mixed skin types, you can't go wrong alternating this with a foam or oil based cleanser every other day. I cleanse my face with this in the shower after applying an oil based makeup remover, then follow up with a hydrating serum and snail emulsion. The result is soft, firm, refreshed skin and no irritation! I'll be sure to come back and update if I experience any change in my skin's reaction to this product, as well as with how long the tube lasts me. If you're looking for a moderately priced exfoliant that won't rip up your face, this is a wonderful option.

Amazon was out of my usual rice cleanser, so I decided to try this one. I certainly wasn't disappointed, and I now have a new favorite. This is a wonderful cleanser. It's rich and thick, if you use it correctly. You'll need to apply this to a damp face. Then, just squeeze a little of the cleanser onto your wet hands, and rub them together until a nice foam forms. Then, apply to your face and scrub with either a cloth or a battery operated brush (I love the PMD, which is for sale here on Amazon). This is marketed as an exfoliating cleanser, and it does contain tiny particles of rice, which certainly brighten the skin, but it won't really exfoliate anything other than the dead skin cells that are clinging to your skin. However, we really can't ask a cleanser to do much more than that. (I also have the PMD exfoliator, and that works wonders.) While this cleanser won't give you a deep exfoliation treatment, it will remove all the "bad stuff" on the surface of your skin and leave it feeling wonderful and looking brighter. Unless you have extremely sensitive skin, this cleanser is mild enough to use every day. I don't have sensitive skin at all, and I use this in the morning, then again in the evening after my oil based cleanser, and I've had no problems at all. If you've read my other reviews, you might know I have very dry skin. (Bummer, people with dry skin get wrinkles and superficial lines more easily, so I'm trying to stave them off with a rigorous skincare program.) This is the perfect cleanser for people with dry or normal skin. It will work on oily skin as well, but those people might need something a little more cleansing, something that we dry skinned folks might find a bit strong. All-in-all, I'm so happy with this foaming cleanser that I plan on trying the other skincare products in this line.

I love almost everything that comes from this brand, and I absolutely adore this face wash. First off, it is a scrub so it is a physical exfoliator. It behaves like their foaming black sugar scrub in that the abrasive particles dissolve into a rich, thick, foamy lather very quickly so it does a great job at polishing but you can't overdo it because it will just foam into cream. I love touch as a sensation and I just love how this feels, just a tiny bead about the size of an almond is more that enough to foam up your entire face, and the lather gets as thick as shaving cream. It's just delightful and fun and you really get clean. As for it's brightening qualities it definitely does slough away dullness and rice is reknown for its brightening properties. I highly recommend this product for daily use, great for sensitive skin too as there's almost no scent.

I wouldn't suggest this as a daily exfoliant as advertised - you could be over exfoliating and making your skin condition worse! I'm in my mid twenties and still have hormonal/acne prone skin and was told that adding gentle physical exfoliant into my regime could help. I don't have entirely sensitive skin to products, but in my case, exfoliants are not meant to be a daily thing, nor an every other day thing. I have found myself using this maybe once a week now which is perfect. I'm not convinced that this product alone is helping me combat my acne, but I feel like it's contributing to helping my acne medication (topical) penetrate deeper into my skin. I don't particularly enjoy the feeling of my skin on my face after I wash the product off - I feel as though the natural oils from my skin have been stripped and it's just begging for moisture! I make sure to add an extra layer of moisturizer after using this. This is one of the reasons why I don't use it as often anymore. I still use this at least weekly in the shower on my body where I have bumpy skin - I've noticed an improvement on my upper arms over the months. This product is affordable, the scent is mild, it is of thick consistency and smooth texture, and lightly foams up when mixed with water. A little definitely goes a long way - I use a generous pea-sized amount. Picture to add that product labeling has changed. Left side was purchased in June 2020 and one on right in October 2020. They were both sealed at the tubing and externally with a film, so it did not bring any cause for concern.

I'm 67 and my skin is "evolving". I had a bout of cheilitis and have been changing all the products I use on my face, trying to find out what was causing the reaction. I bought this because it was hypoallergenic. I liked the consistency, the nice, rich lather. I couldn't use it around my eyes because I experienced mild stinging. After using the product for a week, I realized it was drying my skin and actually making things worse, so I stopped using it. In retrospect, my eyes had been watering all week and that stopped as soon as I stopped using this product. This might be a really good product for someone with younger, less dry skin, but it did not work for me. I gave it to my son.

This is a wonderful, gentle, foaming scrub that doesn’t dry out the skin and is perfect for exfoliating every other day. There is a fragrance, but I don’t find it overpowering, but may be for those who are sensitive to smells. Though it is advertised as a daily scrub, but I wouldn’t recommend using a scrub every day in general, as it can strip your skin too much. This is good to use every other day. Leaves my skin feeling super smooth. Helps with reducing whiteheads and tiny bumps on skin. The rice ingredients help with brightening the skin and removing impurities as well, which I have noticed made a difference after using this scrub for a little over a month now. Great for maintaining your skin. FYI: I have normal/combination skin type, prone to whiteheads, but little acne. I would say this scrub is gentle and effective for all skin types though.

Great exfoliant and brightening cleanser! If you have sensitive skin, this is not a 'daily' cleanser in my opinion. I was using daily and started to experience irritation. When I use once maybe twice a week it leaves my skin feeling smooth and removes any dullness caused by dead skin. This cleanser lathers up really well and feels nice on the skin. A half pea sized amount is all it takes for my face, so this bottle is a great value for the price!

Bias review but I love Skinfood. I have sensitive dry skin and this stuff is amazing to clean your face without stripping and just moisturize after. The amount of product you get is a lot because you don't need to use that much as well. I will be repurchasing this and I do think it is suitable for all skin types.

Smells really nice and is so thick and lucious. The consistency is like pearl and makes my skin glow. Love it!
