I love this stick
I love this stick,I could end the review with that and give it 5 stars and call it a day, however I'll tell you why I love this stick. (I mean this is a review right lol) First of all let me start off by saying I'm no stranger to this stick,I bought a used older Mayflash stick that was modded with Sanwa parts off ebay and so I kind of knew what I was getting into with this. I love the fact that this stick is so easy to mod with Sanwa parts and was a huge selling point for me,the stock parts are alright but I doubt that they last,I play top level mvc2 and for those of you who are reading this and are into fighters, you already know how that goes,so I'm going to be needing some pretty damn durable parts that will last,Sanwa parts is the answer to that, another brand I'm familiar with. I also love this stick because it's compatable with PC,PS3,PS4,XBONE and I'm not sure but I think you can use this on your 360 as well. I think for the newer consoles, the Playstation 4 and Xbox one, respectively, you need the stock controller to get the stick to work but I haven't tried that. I use this joystick on my Playstation 4 with Street Fighter V but I use it as a legacy controller, aka a Playstation 3 controller,so I haven't tried to use this as a Playstation 4 joystick just as of yet because I have no need to. I may be thinking too much (I'm guilty of that at times!) but why would I pay all this money for a madcatz "fightstick" that's only compatible with one system or the other when I can get a stick that's compatible with multiple systems at a much cheaper price. I don't know, that's just how I see it. I know and understand that this stick is not going to be for everybody but it definitely fits my needs. The modding capability was probably the main selling point for me,the older Mayflash sticks took alot of work to mod (including soldering) but this stick is much easier to mod and I'm sure this was done on purpose by the makers of the stick,so kudos goes to them for that. In case you're interested in the sanwa mod, you'll need a Sanwa JLF stick, the 8 sanwa buttons (both of these can be bought here on Amazon) and you'll need a PCB Encoder 5 pin female wire/cord or something like that it's called, you can find this on Focusattack.com,I didn't find it here on amazon, this will be used to connect the sanwa stick to the PCB of the Mayflash stick and yes it is mandatory so just go ahead and spend the 5 bucks on it. (The cord itself is 75 cents but the S and H for me was 4 bucks,so that's about 5 bucks altogether give or take, since the S and H might be more or less depending on where you're at) Oh and in reference to what I said earlier about the older Mayflash stick needing to be soldering, this one doesn't need that, you just pull out (CAREFULLY!) the wires from the stick and buttons,it's not a hard mod at all and if you're careful it should go smoothly. I guess I can't really say anything about the stock parts (parts that came with the joystick) since I just tried them out and didn't play with them over a long period of time so I don't know how durable they are but they feel alright,it's not sanwa quality but it's close enough,so if you're just really casual you probably could just skip the mod altogether but if you play fighters every day like I do,you might wanna think about doing that mod. It's about 60 bucks or so for everything needed for the mod of stick and buttons, more if you want an 8 way restricter gate or a different stick or w/e but my mod came up to about 60 bucks. It's a cheaper alternative to the mega expensive mad catz sticks which are about $250 or so (with S and H included). I don't know about you but I'm all about saving money so for me this stick definitely meets my needs, the mod went smoothly and I may purchase another one in the future. Thanks for taking the time to read this review,if you do purchase the stick I hope you enjoy it as I'm enjoying mines, take care!

An AMAZING budget arcade stick for first-timers and veterans alike
Having only had this arcade stick for a day, I'm still getting used to some of the finer points of use, but just off of that one day, I can safely say it's EXTREMELY solid for the money. The joystick and buttons are clicky and responsive, and the inclusion of an octagonal gate means that you have that as an option if you need the extra precision it provides. Nothing feels TOO horribly cheap, though I would suggest looking into replacing the buttons with higher grade parts sooner rather than later, as while they do feel GOOD, they also don't feel AMAZING. For those that want to do the button swap, or just mod the stick completely and remove all the stock Mayflash components, it's able to take Sanwa Denshi buttons right out of the box, and only needs you to purchase a 5-pin harness to swap out the joystick. As for system compatibility, this stick is so universally compatible out of the box, it's almost unbelievable. The only system so far that it seems to not work with out of the box is PS5, but Mayflash even offers a component to address that issue. All in all, between its low price point of $50-$70, performance, quality, and easy upgradability, I can very safely say that, if you're looking for your first arcade stick, or just a base for a weekend stick modding project, you cannot go wrong with the Mayflash F300.

Good stick for beginners, but instructions regarding older consoles need to be completely redone
This is my first arcade stick, and I'm extremely happy with it. Yes it's cheap, yes it's a "budget" stick, but for what you pay the quality is there. The buttons feel good, and the stick is solid and "click-y". It can be modded and the buttons/stick can be swapped out very easily, even for someone like me who's never done anything like that before. So far I've used it on PS4 and PC, I don't own Xbox One or the NeoGeo Mini so I can't speak to how well it works on those, and I don't have much of an interest in using it on my Android or my PS3 (currently in storage). The issue for me, however, has to do with the stick's compatibility on Xbox 360 and Switch. Just because the instructions say it's just "plug and play" for Switch and just "plug a wired Xbox 360 controller into the stick" for the 360, it doesn't REALLY mean that. For Switch compatibility, depending on what version of the stick you get (yes there are different versions, mine is the Rev. 1.3), you may need to go online to the Mayflash official site and download the firmware update onto the stick that allows Switch compatibility. As for XBox 360, the instructions fail to mention that it CANNOT be a controller that uses ANY kind of battery or optional wire/wireless function whatsoever. No chargeable battery pack, no battery case for wireless use, nothing like that. It MUST be a generic 360 controller with the cable HARDWIRED in for it to work with the stick, and even then if it's not an official Microsoft Xbox 360 controller, it still may not work. At that point, your best bet is to look for the Magicboots Xbox 360 dongle (which Mayflash also sells, how convenient), then and only then is the stick guaranteed to work on the 360. I know because I bit the bullet and purchased the dongle, and I've had no issues with the stick on my 360 since then. Final words: The stick works great, it's a pretty solid bang for your buck, it's easy to mod, but the folks at Mayflash really need to step their game up with regards to informing their customers on getting the stick to actually work on everything it's meant to be compatible with.

Last a long time even with rough usage
Bought mine back in 2020, took 6 years of often and rough usage before the buttons finally gave out. I've dropped the controller, slammed the buttons, everything. For the price you pay couldn't ask for something better, in terms of quality and durability, will definitely buy again

BEST ARCADE STICK I HAVE EVER USED! HEADPHONE USERS MUST READ.
The MAYFLASH F300 arcade stick is amazing for gamers to bring back that nostalgia feel of being back in the arcade and its very comfortable with its anti friction grips at the bottom of the arcade stick, it wont slip when placed on top of a desk or table (but id figure you would put it on your lap and its still very comfortable and a great size). NOTE: YOU NEED THE CONTROLLER IN ORDER TO USE FOR PLAYSTATION AND XBOX OWNERS. It is very easy to use and the best part is that its universal which means you can connect it to almost any device. I have used this on both new and last gen Xbox, Playstation, PC, and Nintendo Switch also works with the NEO GEO MINI. It comes with the USB-Type C cable for players who want to use this on Nintendo Switch. Its 8 way joystick is very comfortable and I want to point out that it is a Japanese 8 way Joystick. It means that it does not use a circular gate like how USA,EURO, and KOREA do. Instead It uses a square gate which is not a problem at all. It comes with the use of a TURBO button and a use of a touchpad button. It has switchable inputs weather your playing on console or PC such as XInput, DInput(PS3) and Controller. It has Two Turbo Modes from TURBO 1 and TURBO 2 and a switch for weather you want your Joystick to act like a joystick or to act like a D-PAD. It has your PS HOME button and START, SELECT, BACK, and MENU buttons for all consoles and the SHARE button to share those great gaming moments. Everything can be fully customized to your gaming standards such as replacing the joystick and buttons. The only thing about this arcade stick is the lack of a headphone jack, which means if your planning to use a 3.5mm headphone jack on this arcade stick on Xbox or PlayStation and you want to be able to chat with your friends, then you are out of luck. Most people think that because you are connecting the controller to the arcade stick, the use of headphones might work. Sadly this is not the case because i have tried it. But a SOLUTION to this problem is to get a USB headset. You can use a USB headset wired or wireless but it must be connected directly to the console. Using a USB headset and connecting it to the console directly will work with this arcade stick and free you from using too many wires. If you are willing to pay a little extra and get the MAYFLASH F500 then that one does have the use of a built in headphone jack and can be used to have a vibrating wrist strap for vibration. I would personally go with the F300 because you'd basically be paying way more just for the use of a headphone jack. id say its cheaper to get a usb headset. IF YOU DONT WANT TO SPEND MONEY ON A USB HEADSET, then buy a 3.5mm to usb adapter which can go around for $8.00 on amazon.

BUILD AND FEEL
You get what you paid for, the price point is the best part about this stock because it’s super cheap and you get a decent stick. Two big points: 1: the buttons are extremely mushy, they almost feel like they’re going to pop out at anytime after you press them, and extremely loud, for me personally it was a downside as I had a leveless before with firm and quiet buttons that just let me concentrate a little more. It feels like a toy. 2. Same thing with the stick, it has a lot of play, I think the best way I could describe it would be loose. It feels like I have to really absolutely get every angle and degree just perfectly or it will derail off course, that was kinda hard to get used too and again it’s LOUD AF and feels like a actual toy you would give a 5 yrold. All in all, yeah $60 not bad but I VERY much recommend if you can save a little more money and buy a better one go that route. If you ABSOLUTELY need one right now then ehh why not, but I think you can find better ones with like an extra 20-30 bucks

This thing is awesome.
Ever since visiting a local arcade recently I’ve been obsessed with owning a CRT again and an Arcade stick. I’ve already ventured into arcade world through the MiSTer FPGA and Neo Geo MVS and I wanted a stick that could work with everything including my XBOX. Well, this works great with all of them, I don’t notice any latency and it’s solidly built. I had a few Sanwa buttons laying around and they are easy to swap and do feel more responsive and better. I am going to do the arcade stick as well down the line, but it ain’t bad! Great deal for the money, versatile, and satisfying that arcade itch. I installed a Sanwa JLF with Cherry switches and retrofit it and soldered in the connections. If you are pretty decent at soldering it should be pretty easy. I included the little wiring chart I made for your reference and a picture of the corresponding board connections. It’s the set of 4, 2 wire white connectors. I clipped the wires off the original stick after I made the chart, and then unplugged them from the board, stripped the leads, tinned the leads and soldered them all the same way to the switches and found that they are interchangeable and even wired in different ways stock. The Sanwa stick is smoother and the switches are a lot quieter, it’s a definite improvement. If you decide to do the upgrade you’ll feel where that money went. It’s just nice. And it’s been great, I’ve been working on mastering Blazing Star, an old Neo Geo shmup, for a long while and I have found some greater precision with the arcade stick and making good progress with the game. I’d like to eventually 1 CC it, it’s probably my favorite game right now. Have fun - hope this helps someone!
