Really nice toy. My infant loves it. It just came in a cardboard but had instructions and it was pretty easy to install. Has different sounds from playful to night time songs. talks to your baby in a sweet voice and asks question so your child can interact with it. The bone on the neck lighten up when singing or talking. It's fun and educational. It comes with a cable to connect the toy to your phone and select your child's name and favorite things

This is our son's 3rd LeapFrog Scout and he has a Violet too. It's his third one NOT because it is poorly made (it's actually made very well and the quality is great and super durable), it's his third because he loves it SO MUCH (he sleeps with it every night like a comfort blanket and Scout is his best bud and does everything with him, even now that he's a little older) and we wanted to tuck his first one his grandma bought him for Christmas when he was a baby away into his baby box before he wore it completely out. The 2nd one we got him was the newer version and slightly different than the original but still awesome and great quality. But of course he wanted another one exactly like his original and so we searched and found this for a really decent price. If you're debating whether you should buy a Scout or Violet for a little one in your life, just do it! Out of every toy and stuffie our son has received over the years, this has been the one he treasures and still loves the most.

The LeapFrog My Pal Scout is a sweet, huggable toy that helps my grandson learn songs, names, and routines in a playful, gentle way. Its soft feel and cheerful voice make it an instant favorite toy, especially when I personalize it with his name. With its mix of learning and cuddly comfort, it’s a wonderful little companion he reaches for again and again.

Original Violet will always be the best however this Violet is good too. Original Violet, when I got it in 2010, had more options for favorite food and favorite animal. I think one even had the ability to download music. I also think the voice was a bit calmer. Original Violet lasted 11 years!! The second Violet I got lasted 3 years. This is the 3rd Violet I have gotten. Original Violet got a special person though medical problems as a baby and toddler. The goodnight songs continue to be a calming sound for this person although the songs are different. The 5min feature is wonderful. It can be on a lower volume or higher volume (The lower volume is loud enough IMO). If Leap Frog could ever get me original Violet again I would be eternally grateful.

I purchased My Pal Violet as a gift for my nearly year old niece because my son has loved his My Pal Scout to pieces. Violet has been an incredible hit with my niece. She has short violet and white fur with a plastic light up "dog tag" with Violet painted on it. She shouldn't be washed in the washing machine but you can spot clean her a little. The white fur doesn't easily release stains after a while, and beleive me, she will accumulate stains because she will be played with all the time. Violet runs on 3 AAA batteries that are held within a plastic, screwed shut compartment inside of her velcroed back. We keep a small screw driver with our extra batteries for the toy so that changing them out is not such a problem. She comes with a USB cable because it is a customizable toy if you own a computer. I will say that the better your internet connection, the better off you will be with this toy. Leapfrog doesn't have the easiest to navigate site. It is not user intuitive and usually takes a couple of tries to get any of our Leapfrog toys customized. The sync function at the end is an especial pain. Violet has an "on/off" paw, a bedtime music paw, a musical paw with popular children's songs, and a paw that makes Violet talk with customizable phrases. You can make the bedtime music play for longer amounts of time by pressing it multiple times. You can customize what children's music the other paw plays. The remaining paw is conversation for your child and it is priceless to have the toy say "I love you, (insert child's name)". It also is customized with info such as you child's favorite food and color. Some of the conversation can be a little nonsensical but that is part of the fun, I suppose. If it were a breeze to program and a little more educational, I would give it 5 stars. It is a great toy though and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it for any child.

I first bought Violet for my 9 month old daughter 5yrs ago for Christmas. She has loved this toy so much, it is by her bed every night playing bedtime music, we even have to pack it when we go on vacation! Like I said we have had it for almost 5 yrs and have never had a problem with it. It does require batteries but it doesn't drain them very quickly like some toys can. I'd say that we go months without having to change the battery and the toy gets daily use. When my now 3 yr old was born I bought her a Scout toy of her own, and same story she loves it! I personalized these when both girls were very young and now that they are older and have opinions on favorite color, food and animal I can go in and update those. And if they change their minds again it's very easy to do. I just bought Scout again as a baby gift for my new nephew only to find that it has been improved from the older versions my daughters have. Previously you had to use a PC with a USB port and download the software to personalize Scout. Now Scout comes with a 'headphones" connector that can be plugged right in to an iPad or iPhone and the personalization process is even faster and easier! It even has an easy to open flap on the back of the package so that it can be personalized and given as a gift without having to remove Scout from its original packaging! I think this is brilliant, they really thought of everything! I would give this toy 10 stars if I could! There aren't many toys that will keep a child's interest for 5yrs and going! I hope that my nephew loves it as much as my daughters have.

Got this for my littlest little person and she loves it. Perfect for ages 6m and up. The size is perfect for her and the volume is just right. It can also be lowered via the box inside. The outer material is soft and can be kept clean with a towel and mild soap.

Bought for my son last Christmas. He was 10 months. At the time, I would say my 2.5 year old got more use out of it, but now at 18 months, he loves it. You can personalise it by plugging if in to the computer and choosing the child's name, favourite colour, favourite food and favourite animal. You can also choose which songs you would like it to play when they squeeze its paw, which is great for when they get too repetitive and annoying. Not all children's names are available as you must choose from a library, rather than inputting any name, although there are plenty to choose from. There is a paw to squeeze to sing songs, including a song about the child's name and one about their favourite things; a foot to squeeze for bedtime mode, so he will play lullabies for a chosen number of minutes to help your child sleep; and the collar lights up in four different colours when some songs are played. The other paw enables you to play games with Scout, like guessing an object he's describing, and the left foot switches him on and off. There is also a volume control inside scout on his battery pack which enables you to switch from high to low. Neither I find offensive, but low is quite quiet (although we have a busy house so may not be if you have less children!), so we usually have him on high volume so my son can hear him. We find that sufficient for night time lullabies too. A great little toy for a brilliant price that my son loves, and when he grows out of it, I can reprogram it for him little sister, so can get plenty of use out of it! He is very cuddly despite his battery pack and a good size too. Overall, a fantastic toy with some educational value that I imagine we will get a good few years of play from, at a cheap price. Well worth the money I think.

Quick delivery and toy was as I expected nice and easy to install. My baby loves it. I recommend to everyone.
