Is this printer reliable?
I bought this printer less than 3 years ago. It has been sent to the Canon service repair centre twice in this time the last repair is costed at £410. I have informed them to scape the printer for me. On the plus side the print quality is 1st class. The print cartridges do seem to have a very short life and hence expensive for large volumes of work. As a Canon advocate I wish I could praise this printer but this product does not warrant it.

Magnífica calidad de impresión pero NUNCA utilicéis tintas que no sean las originales de CANON.
Es una magnífica impresora por la calidad de impresión que ofrece. Utiliza tintas de pigmento de gran calidad y que, se supone, permiten una duración inalterada durante siglos de las fotos. Es un producto muy indicado para fotógrafos profesionales que no tengan grandes volúmenes de impresión y para aficionados avanzados. Hay que saber que consume mucha tinta, especialmente las negras, grises y el Optimizador de Color. También hay que tener presente que no siempre dichos cartuchos de tienta están disponibles para su compra, ni en Amazon, ni en Canon, ni en otros proveedores, por lo que conviene tener siempre un stock de reserva. Tras años de utilización, añado un comentario muy importante: No se pueden utilizar tintas que no sean marca CANON. Por mucho que prometan los que las venden, bloquean la impresora. Hablo desde la experiencia. Cuando se compran tintas, hay que fijarse en que tengan claramente la marca Canon y sean "Lucia PRO Ink 300". Hay marcas de tintas que no son CANON con envases que copian los colores y el diseño original y no son CANON y que, al utilizarlas, acaban bloqueando la impresora. El bloqueo de esta impresora tiene consecuencias graves porque el Servicio Técnico de CANON es muy malo. Tardan muchísimo en reparar una impresora porque, al parecer, tienen pocos técnicos (O tienen que enviar la impresora a Alemania, vaya usted a saber) y están completamente sobrepasados y tarda muchísimo en las reparaciones. La parte buena, aparte de la calidad de la impresión, es que si siempre se utilizan las tintas marca CANON la impresora no da problemas y su manejo es relativamente sencillo, tanto directamente, o bien desde Lightroom o desde PhotoShop.

Perfekt aber auch nicht günstig
Habe mir den Drucker vor Weihnachten gekauft. Druckergebnis und Handling ist top. Aber man muss auch dafür investieren. Gutes Papier und Tinte (Original, nur) haben ihren Preis. Für mich ist ein Hobby und es macht viel mehr Spaß die Foto auf dem Print zu betrachten als auf dem Bildschirm. Einrichtung und Inbetriebnehmen ist einfach, halt typisch Canon. Würde ich den Drucker wieder kaufen. Ein klares "ja" ich bin zufrieden. Für jemanden der "mal einen" Ausdruck macht und dann 1/2 Jahr gar nicht tut - wird es sicher ein Fehlentscheidung gewesen sein. Ich freue mich jedenfalls über die A3+ Ausdrucke und alle anderen Formate. Man muss aber schon auch ein wenig ausprobieren und gerne Test-Päckchen kaufen, bei denen man die unterschiedlichen Qualitäten und Papiersorten bewerten kann. Ich habe da meine Favoriten gefunden und die bleiben dann auch unverändert. Hahnemühle und Canon sind bei mir gesetzt. In diesem Sinne, viel Spaß beim Ausdrucken denen die ihn sich auch zugelgt haben oder dies noch tun wollen.

Qualité pro pas de doute. cf commentaires pour le techique
Grande Qualité et facile à mettre en oeuve. Les papiers photo selon les marques font une grosse différence papier utilisé (avery , 240g/m² Papier Photo Brillant A4 Jet d'Encre 100 Feuilles Pour Impressions Professionnelles - pour Imprimantes à Jet d'encre, canon photo Pro platinium) types impression: couleur, noir et blanc, niveau de gris et le Rendu est parfait, séchage rapide, ne bave pas J'ai paramétré le driver/pilote imprimante "papier professionnel platine" "qualité +haute"
