From the gas piston up it holds my 270 lb just fine. The lower portion had multiple welds breaking and the wheels giving out in a matter of 2 weeks. I have since placed the gas piston and chair portion on another lower frame and has been working fine since.

Q: Does this chair tip easily?

Yes, it tips too easily. I was sitting squarely on mine, and wanted to scoot it 6 feet across my kitchen, linoleum floor. The wheels stopped swiveling and rolling, and the stool literally dumped me off it onto the floor! I'm a small person at 5 ft tall and 110 pounds. I'm also handicapped, and can't have this happening. I'm returning the stool. And looking for something with a wider base.

Q: Are the caster wheels rubber?

YES - BUT IS POORLY MADE - STATES IN THE DESCRIPTION THAT IT COULD HOLD A PERSON 300LBS - I'M NOT CLOSE TO THAT WEIGHT AND THE CHAIR KEPT TIPPING OVER.
