Tubular Bells II

After missing my vinyl, cassette and CD versions of Mike Oldfield's 'Tubular Bells' that had disappeared over the years, I happened upon a YouTube video of a studio performance of it and fell in love with it all over again. After watching the 'Tubular Bell II' live concert that was listed there also, I went ahead and purchased a CD copy of both TB and TBII. While the heritage of TBII is obviously derived from the TB concept, and there are many structural similarities, I find TBII is able to stand firmly on its own merits. While I'm no musicologist, I know what I like, and if the number of times I've already played the TBII CD over the last several months is any indication, I apparently really like TBII.

Great 2nd after the great Tubular Bells. I have Mike Oldfield albums and it's time to get the CDs. And how wonderful to have Alan Rickman narrate. That beautiful voice was silenced too soon.

CD case arrived sealed nd undamaged .Played without recording defects.

Fantastic music, great sound, defective vinyl. I replaced the record and the second one was even worse - visible manufacturers defect. I guess I will keep the previous one regardless of some strange noises or try my luck with one more replacement. Shame.... I was tempted to give one star but I cannot do it to Mike Oldfield.....

This music scares the potatoes out of my Mom. Love bluetoothing it into the attic of her 100 year old home. Bill Murray's getting called into that house.

This CD is basically like TB 1, but more modern. The downbeat, mixing and electronic music is all above the original 1973 CD. One nice feature instead of just 2 tracks there are many - so if you have a favorite part you can zoom into just that. Dark Star and The Bell are my two favorite tracks. Lot of melodies and counter melodies; very texturally rich music. Mike Oldfield is a genius. I personally like Ommnadawn better; but I prefer this to TB1 - but I rate all three as 5 stars. Oldfield is not for everyone, but to those adventuresome, he is worth checking out.

Mike Oldfield creates, and creates is the correct word, a language of sound that takes you to places where your spirit wishes to go. The joy I have felt listening to his music is unlike most experience in this world. I still burst into tears when I hear certain passages - even after having heard them many times before. Michael is an angel come down amongst us.

Più moderno rispetto al primo capitolo, più orecchiabile, più facile, e pertanto anche più commerciale. Lo si ascolta comunque volentieri ed il sound è notevole, pieno di sfumature e arrangiato come sempre in maniera eccellente. Il vinile è di buona qualità e suona pulito (purtroppo però l'ho dovuto far sostituire poichè il primo che mi è arrivato era graffiato: gli addetti ai lavori di stampa odierna dei vinili ci devono andar giù un po' pesante in certe situazioni... capita spesso infatti di aprire la confezione e trovarsi tra le mani un disco con antipatici "segnetti" e impronte (e quand'è solo così va anche bene) fino alla famigerata "incisione", magari anche piccola ma che si sente all'ascolto, fatta in quali circostanze chissà io mi chiedo!. Ad ogni modo l'ottimo servizio dei Amazon ha risolto la situazione velocissimamente e con grande cortesia... l'unica scocciatura dover imballare il prodotto e doverlo spedire per la sostituzione).

Tubular Bellsは、もう皆さんがご存知の・・・なので、音楽主体で聴くべき作品です。なぜなら、映画をイメージすると怖いから（笑）。 この作品は、対照的に背景画をイメージして聴く作品であります。 特に印象的な例のメロディと女性の素敵な声とアコギ・ギターの音色が堪りません。 仮に、あの作品が例の映画の主題歌に使われていなかったら、地味に聴かれる事になったでしょう。 そういう意味から、良し悪しはありますが「Tubular Bells」というネームヴァリュウは凄いです。 でも、緊張感というか大胆で繊細な部分は「Tubular Bells」が最高です。 レコード（LP）については、チュブラベルの金属感がより善く出ていていい音です。

El producto de lleva 5 estrellas, es un clásico y lo puedes escuchar de principio a fin y es espectacular, el tema Maya Gold es casi espiritual. No venía protegido, lo enviaron un un sobre de Amazon lo cuán hizo que viniera con dobleces y eso está muy mal, son discos Muy ESPECIALES y Muy CAROS, como para que no los protejan bien, de EU a México obviamente ameritaba la caja. En fin 5 estrellas al producto 1 estrella al responsable del envío.
