Solid Replacement Power Supply
Our old power supply failed, so we shopped and selected this one to replace it. It was a great purchase! The old one was only about 250w, and obviously this one is rated double at 500w, so happy for the price that the new one isn't working as hard to run the system. It also has large fans and lots of cooling vents, but what shocked me was how quiet is was while running. Installation was straightforward of course, all these are basically universal and 4 screws and unplug / replug and it's installed. I'd call this a reliable replacement PSU without breaking the bank. Our PC is back up and running perfectly!

Definitely your money's worth for a reliable mid-sized power supply
This is a moderate power supply, and non-modular, but it is very inexpensive for what you get. I was building a lower end gaming rig. Nothing like the newest GPU, not the latest and greatest CPU. But, the case needed a power supply. I didn't want to buy anything fancy, so I spung for a brand I have used before and I got this. Install was simple it fit the existing slot just perfect, screws line up as expected. It had more than enough power cables for all my needs, and adapters that I didn't need incase I add hard drives or other things in the future. It is quiet, I can't hear the fan running. It runs flawlessly, at least I have no reason to think it doesn't. It is one of those things you don't notice when they are working properly, and I don't notice this at all. It just works. And for the price, it is a deal.

Fantastic Brand and Product!
I been a computer tech for a long time and it's hard to beat Thermaltake products. You will notice that they are a bit heavier than some of the cheaper brands. That's due to the fact that they're made from good electrical components. They just seem to last and last. They will fit right in all of your standard computer cases. They are slightly more expensive but you are getting a lot of value for what you pay. They are easy to install and the cables are well organized for being able to connect to components. I highly recommend these power supplies.

Good quality power supply for older desktop computers. Excellent value.
This power supply works very well in an old Dell XPS Studio 8100. Great price. I have shared a screenshot of the voltages after installing the Thermaltake power supply. It is very well calibraated and close to target voltages. My only criticism is that it has every conceivable connector type, requiring a large desktop case to stow away unused connectors and cabling. It is unlikely someone will need the 4-pin accessory connector and it takes up a lot of space.

Works for weaker systems
Does it's job, it's quiet, doesn't seem to run too hot, and I have no fear of it blowing up any time soon after a year+ of usage. Only reason it doesn't make five stars is because there isn't any room to upgrade if you get this one. Try a more powerful, better rated power supply if you can afford it.

Junk (updated)
UPDATE: Turns out I misdiagnosed the problem. A different power supply booted this computer right up, so I assumed the problem was this power supply. But, eventually the computer started doing the same thing with the other supply installed. Apparently, something must've happened to the motherboard when the original power supply died. The computer was shutting off when TrueNAS tried to start the RAM drive. The solution was to bump down the speed of the RAM one notch. Now everything is working fine and I put this power supply back into the computer. I put this in my NAS running TrueNAS on an Asus motherboard with a Core i7 2600, the OS running on an SSD, four hard drives, and using the built-in video of the CPU, so no video card. 500 watts should be plenty to run this. This power supply would only power on the computer for the BIOS check, then immediately shuts off. I'd return this piece of junk, but I already threw away the box. So now I'm stuck with it.

So far, so good!
EDIT: 3 months in and running strong. It pains me to see such a solid component with so many poor reviews. It appears that there was an issue with a specific production run which isn't uncommon. Once you've built enough computers, you come to expect a defective part from time to time. That's why you order from an Amazon or Newegg style retailer. No-headache RMAs and no more than a couple days of downtime. Surprised my parents with a new computer. They are very light users, and the last computer I built for them was coming up on 7 years old. On a budget of $380, I based around a Ryzen 3200g, Asus b450 mATX motherboard, g.skill 16gb DDR4-3200 (way overkill, but on sale it was only $12 more than the 2x 4gb kit...), Silicon power 256gb nvme drive, and a thermaltake versa h17 case. The $380 includes a windows 10 pro oem key, a USB 3 hub, and a USB 3 6ft extension cable. Reused the 120gb sata solid state from the old system and used the stock hsf from a 3900x. Have three of them from builds at work that we put larger cooling systems in. This power supply has been in for a couple of days now, and it has been working perfectly. The fan is quiet, the cables robust and well made to a great length, and it runs nice and cool. 500W is overkill for the system, but I'd rather have plenty of headroom to keep the supply running well below peak consistently. Fitment in the H17 case is perfect, and I must say the H17 case is my favorite case of this size and price point with which I have ever used for a build. I will be using it again shortly for a work build. I saw some rough reviews, although generally quite well liked, but for the price versus features, this model checked all the boxes. Should something go amiss in the future, I will update this review. All in all, highly recommended, and will look to this for general use systems in the future.
