I absolute favorite!!
Fermentaholics is the first brand I went to when I started making kombucha 6 years ago. Know that I've gotten back into it I am using them again. I want to introduce a healthy drink alternative to my young granddaughters they absolutely love it. This makes better kombucha than anything in the store. People now they say you don't need a pellicle to make kombucha, that the liquid is actually the scoby and that is all that's needed. However I don't want to wait a month for my kombucha to ferment. So I will continue trimming and using my pellicle. I can make one gallon in 7 days. I add blended fruit and a little sugar or honey with the tea into a pop top bottle. Wait four days for it to build carbonation and put it in the fridge. I also bought their pH strips so I and monitor when it's ready and maintain a safe pH level. This makes excellent kombucha, they've been in business a long time and they know what they're doing.

Accurate Enough For My Needs
I bought these to test the pH of activated EM-1 (microbial soil inoculant). As a check for accuracy I also tested the pH of lemon juice (albeit a little bit old, and not fresh, unfortunately) and of white vinegar, both of which were about what I'd expected. When I tested the EM-1 solution the strips indicated a pH of about 3.7, which is right in the range I needed. My only beef is that, while the hard plastic holder for the pH strips is awesome, the fit between the bottom and the lid is hella snug. As a result, when I finally got the lid off all of the pH strips were launched onto the floor even though I'd expected and tried to prevent it. Fortunately, the floor was dry. Unfortunately, all of the strips were exposed to the humid summer air, so who knows how well they'll keep. Plus, it took forever to get them back into the holder. Like, have you ever tried to fill one of those plastic q-tip travel containers, or maybe one of those round bathroom q-tip holders, with fresh q-tips? It takes forever thanks to the recalcitrant q-tips that want to go in sideways and block the rest. It was like that, only with flimsy strips of plastic that can't just be shoved. Yeah, I should've just put them in a freezer baggie, squeezed out all of the air, and called it a day. ยฏโ \โ _โ (โ ใโ )โ _โ /โ ยฏ Bottom line: I'm happy with these strips. They aren't perfect but their accuracy is close enough for my needs, especially for the price.

Adequate performance, very difficult to differentiate pH 4 - 5.5
This item works, but the pH levels between 4 and 5.5 are too difficult to differentiate. The colors are not distinct. Sometimes, if the solution is above pH=6, the strips change to colors that do not match any of the reference colors.

Work great
I have bought these before and was happy it was still available. Very easy to use and read the results. I use them to test my ferments before eating them. I find they are accurate. Good value for my money cause it takes the guess work out of a spoiled or not spoiled ferment.

Easy to use.
I just discovered these and they take the guesswork out of ferments. Very helpful after you get used to reading the colors. Although the top doesn't display for me exactly the same as they are matched on the back diagram, I tried them on known acidic and alkaline substances, and that took the guesswork out of reading the strips. It is very obvious and easy to match after a few tries. I really like the packaging. Will buy again.

Colours don't always line up.
When I kept getting a reading of '3', I wondered if they worked properly. When I tested them on vinegar and then soap, they do indeed work and change colours with different PHs. The colours sometimes match perfectly, and at other times, the shades are not depicted, but I am satisfied that this product works well enough to test kombucha and fermented food. It brings peace of mind for a beginner such as myself.
