The Adjustable Height Home Bed Assist Handle from Drive Medical provides assistance for getting in to and out of your home-style bed. You won't have to worry about the fit since the handle attaches to either side of the bed. It simply slides underneath the mattress and includes an added feature on the base bar, "no-slip foam" that helps hold the bar in place. The removable handle is part of an all steel, chrome-plated construction that is strong, solid and easy to clean. The unit arrives in three pieces and can be assembled quickly and tool-free, and it also can be adjusted flat for easier storage.

and to make matters worse I received a message that it is not eligible ...
Unfortunately I was duped by the "Amazon Choice" banner on this item. When I received it I found that it would not adjust low enough for my bed, and to make matters worse I received a message that it is not eligible for return. While I probably should have read all of the negative reviews on this one, I was pressed for time. This experience will definitely change my relationship with Amazon, as I have always trusted that they would stand behind all purchases. I will be less likely to make a purchase like this in the future and more likely to go to a store, where I can actually see what I'm getting.

Good product at a good price.
Deciding to order this was further confused by the poorly written reviews of this product. People leave wrong or vague information in their reviews that do nothing to help someone trying to decide if this is the right product for them. Here is the important points of this item.It is not difficult to assemble. Takes about 5 minutes once you open the 3 packing boxes. Instructions don't show much but ifyou look at the pictures its self explanatory. No tools required. It is strong and sturdy as the weight of the mattress holds it sturdily in place along with the legs that go to the floor. The important measurement is that the minimum height from the floor to the top of the box spring (bottom of the mattress) is 16". If this measurement is much less than that it will raise the mattress up. Ours was 15 1/2" and it worked ok.My wife had knee replacement surgery and this helps her getting in and out of bed by giving her something sturdy to grip.I think that this is an excellent product for its intended usage. Keep the box for future storage.

CAN'T RETURN THIS ITEM!
YOU CANNOT RETURN THIS! My husband is in a wheelchair. He was sick and very weak. I bought this to help him transfer to the bed but by the time he got out of rehab, he thankfully was stronger and didn't need it any more. I never opened the box. I guess I have been spoiled by ordering from Amazon, but BEWARE! Check return policies. I am very disappointed, that's one reason I order everything from Amazon is because it is so easy to return. Not so for everything.

Item not returnable!
This item was very well made but was too tall for my very petite mom's low bed. She has back problems and has to have her bed very low to the ground, considering her height. The item would not adjust low enough for her bed so I went to return it. To my surprise, it is not eligible for return. Did not see this information anywhere on the site. Seems that this information should be very prominent in the online information for ordering, although, I would not have purchased if I had known it was not returnable. Very clever of them.

Better have a hacksaw. Dimensions given are false.
It's well built - very stable - but the height dimensions, specifically, from floor to lowest and highest (adjustable) horizontal feature (lays between box-spring and mattress) WAS WAY, WAY off from what is specified in the description and specifications. WAY off. I was going to return it, but I wasn't able to find one that was close to the minimum height I needed. They're ALL too high for a bed-height suitable for a senior to get in to and out of. So, I CUT mine to length with a reciprocating saw and appropriate blade. AFTER I finished it, it's very nice. That's the only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. You can't give a product zero starts. The specs given shouldn't be wildly off from the actual product. This will surely infuriate customers who haven't read this. IF you're tooled-up and able to, and not opposed to, cutting your unit down to length with a hacksaw - then yeah - I'd recommend this.

No return allowed. Can't use on some beds.
Can not return. Leg can not be adjusted short enough for the horizontal support to fit between the box spring and mattress if you use a low frame and standard box spring. Need to be able to make the legs at least three inches shorter.

A true lifesaver
My mother is getting up in years & her mobility & strength are going. One of the hardest things for her is getting up out of bed. The sitting up part is almost more than she can handle. She was getting in home physical therapy & we spoke to her PT about this. He recommended this solution. We installed it on her queen size bed. He showed her to use the hand farthest from the rail to grip it & roll herself into her side, then use the other arm to push against the bar & rise to sitting. Works like a charm.Easy to put together (snaps together) & you just adjust the legs to height & slide it under the mattress. That’s it!! It’s wonderful & it gives her more independence.

It can be lowered to 14"
Though officially the locks will lock in the 15"-20" in one inch increments but technically if we press in the button and push the extended leg into the frame beyond the locking hold we can squeeze it down to 14". On a bed with a 6" mattress, the rail in its lowest position is in line with the top of the mattress. Some claims it feels flimsy which is true but once the pins are locked in place it won't pop out. A simple plastic ferrule or tape wrapped in layers easily reduces the wobbly effect. If you remove the legs entirely, it can be at lowest a mere 13", but not recommended as that would mean no rubber protection feet to protect the surface it will sit on. I pushed the legs into the frame and bypassed their locking mechanism, but keep the rubber feet. I got it as low as 14".

Study, great support for injury, pregnancy or elderly
Only have a 3 star as it didn’t fit my bed. It is a sturdy product but the adjustable leg from what goes under the mattress to the floor wasn’t long enough when fully extended. Customer service was excellent when I contacted them.

Sturdy and easy to assemble
I have two of these and they are great for helping a disabled person get in and out of bed.You do have to be careful about the size and height of the mattress on the bed.

A good to have product
I can't give 5 star as I had a bad luck, my package had 2 right legs and no left leg. Another thing is I wish there are product measurements in the product description.
