Kaffir Lime Tree Starter Plant. Citrus Hystrix. Makrut Lime. 3” - 5”

I bought 2 in early summer. They grow pretty slowly. One caught a little bit of mold or fungus, but is doing just fine. The other has been bright green and completely healthy for the last couple of months. Very few new shoots, but that's the plant for you. The seller sends you a perfectly acceptable plant with good instructions. Just take it slow and steady and don't go crazy with these guys and they'll do just fine. Picture 1 shows the plant that has mild problems on the bottom and the super healthy one on top. Picure 2 shows the new growth after about 3 months. I haven't learned the plants and their needs yet, but the seller gives you a solid starting point.

Arrived carefully packed. There was a free seed and some fertilizer. Plant looked very fresh. At one point I thought it was a plastic because it was looking very shiny. So I waited for over 2 weeks to see any growth. Finally a new leaf has sprouted. My little tree looks happy 😀👌. I am going to germinate the free seed that came with the shipment. Will be updating if any results. I was told by someone that the price was too much. Not sure if that is true. But I m happy with my little tree!

I had high expectations for this Kaffir based on the cost. I did exactly as instructed, didn’t transplant until the roots started showing out of the holes in the planter it came in. It did not grow much after transplanting. And then it started losing leaves. I didn’t over water, I sprayed the leaves every other day and watered a little once a week or when the medium was dry. Too bad it took more than 3x days to die or I would have asked for a return. I’d buy a taller version, but am afraid of losing even more money as these are not cheap.

My kaffir lime plant still look healthy and very alive 😃 I can't wait to put it out on the deck this summer. Its a little bit pricey though. Pictures 2 years later..

The first photo was 10 days from when I received it. The second photo is how it looks approx 5 months later. Not much growth but still healthy! I initially purchased this lovely tree during the winter. From the day it shipped, it did not make it home until 8 days later (courtesy of USPS delays). I was concerned because I know the heat pack doesn't last that long but to my surprise it survived the trip. I had to pinch off a yellow leaf not shown in the photo but other than that I repotted it the same day and it has been doing well since. *Note: It is not recommended to repot it that soon but that's because I hadn't read the memo beforehand, yet it survived anyways. In short, would definitely recommend. Excellent customer service and response time too!

Safely packaged! I actually was nervous opening the bubble wrap around the actual plant because it was packaged so well. Comes with clear instructions and an extra seed for starting your own starter! Very impressed, and while it's small (a starter, literally about 4 inches tall) this particular lime tree is known for it's amazing health/medicinal benefits, so I think it's a great deal. I got this a gift for a friend, and 10/10 would recommend this as a gift for someone or just a small plant around your home.

I bought two of these for Christmas presents for “plant lovers” I know. I also purchased two full spectrum lights per the recommendation and I followed the instructions to a “T” until gifting these on the holiday. They looked good Christmas Day. However, both parties had dead trees by February. To be fair, it’s possible they didn’t place the light exactly 12 inches away, keep them under light for the recommended time per day, or spritz the leaves properly. But since they both said they followed instructions and every other plant in their houses are alive and well, I’m leaving 3 stars.

Very beautiful healthy plant! Lots of new growth. I have had it for a year and a half now.
