What does a chip do for you? it seems non-hp all lack a chip.

Earlier cartridges don't have chips. It is something HP started about a year ago. The chip is installed to keep one from buying a $30 after-market cartridge. Instead they want the user to spend over $100 the HP cartridge. HP has been in decline for several years, and now they are just being petty. The printer I purchase, a LaserJet Pro M404Dn is a POS. Ditto the 402. My good HP printer that served me for a decade, would not work since would not support the Windows 10 driver for the printer. Again this is really petting on HP's part. If you don't support the driver, then the consumer will have to buy a new printer. Now I hope the company crashes and burns.

What is the difference between the Hp 58A and the 58X?

The HP 58X toner has 37% more toner than the 58A toner.

Can i get this ink in color? how to i set printer to use less ink? complaints of printing 1500 pages not 3000 with one cartridge as stated.

Hello. Thanks for your question. Your printer is only able to use the HP 58A or HP 58X toner. You cannot add any color toner to your printer. You can change your print quality settings to draft.

How to recycle my used HP 58A cartridges?

When you take out the new cartridge, replace it with the old cartridge. There is a free shipping label inside the box to ship it right back to HP. Drop it at any mailing center. It is so easy and great for the environment!
