Simple, effective, sounds great
If you are looking for a simple, straightforward reverb pedal to give some depth and space to your sound, this is it! The knobs have enough range to allow it to work in front of a dirty amp, but of course it is easier to dial in using a clean amp or in the effects loop. In the effects loop of my amp it adds a little thickening, like a very subtle boost to some low mid and/or mid frequencies, but I did not perceive that at all when running straight into the amp input. Just a really good sounding reverb with useful knobs. If you want 20 different kinds of reverb you need a much more expensive pedal. If you want a set and forger reverb this is great.

Barebones reverb for a great price
Does what it's supposed to do and really easy to use. It's no nonsense, cheap and well built. But probably not for reverb nerds, which I am not. My dog pissed on my boss RV-6 and killed it. So I replaced it with this pedal. The RV-6 was a better reverb but I didn't really need a stereo pedal, and I found that I was spending way too much time fiddling with the different presets instead of actually playing my guitar. With this one, I feel like I can just turn it on and go. And its $100 instead of $150. This would be a fantastic first reverb pedal to dip your toe in without getting overwhelmed. Or for guys like me who just want simple. The RV-6 is hard to see in the dark and its easy to accidently switch to shimmer when you're playing with your band and blast everyone with bright angelic intervals... does anyone actually use shimmer?

Beautiful and versatile reverb and Delay
The reverb is really beautiful and versatile. From 0 to 10 on the decay knob you go from inside a shower to infinite outerspace. The predelay sounds really beautiful and gives a much more filling sound. I'm very happy with this pedal. EDIT 12/4/2020: I recently purchased the Delay pedal and it's on par with the reverb. It's a high quality straight forward digital/analog delay. As simple as these pedals are, the combination of the Delay and Reverb gives you an incredibly broad pallet. My favorite combo is to go: (Digital setting) Delay into the Reverb with the delay toggle off and the tone dialed a little toward the dark end. This helps get the smoothness of analog delay with the perfect repeats of digital. And if I want to strip back the sound, I can turn off the reverb and flip the delay to analog. To make the sound really thick, I can flip on the reverb with the delay toggle on. Just turning pedals off and on and flipping toggles you can get several distinct sounds without touching your knobs. As someone who hates having to redial knobs this is perfect for me.

Great reverb pedal at a low price. Love this pedal!
If I could give this pedal 10 stars I would. Great sounding, full, rich, musical reverb pedal. I've spent more $ on reverb pedals that don't sound this good. Exceeded my expectations... big time. I bought this pedal to put on a "back up" pedal board I put together. The price was right, and I've had good luck with other JHS pedals. Never thought the reverb would sound this good, and I'm not even a huge reverb guy. I like this reverb pedal better than my EHX Holy Grail Max reverb pedal which is a very good sounding pedal and has been on main board for many years. But I might switch them around and put the JHS pedal on my main board. Very impressed. It doesn't look like much. No frills. But man does it sound good.

Just buy it.
I picked this up after getting hooked on the JHS show and it's great. The release video they did on youtube is absolutely accurate. I had only ever used the reverb in Fender amps before this, all spring reverb all the time. This is not that. I'm still surprised how different the two are, and I think I prefer this one for general use. I run it with a moderate amount of verb (45%-ish), tone at noon, and 55-60% on the decay. It sounds fantastic there. Clean tones, overdrives in front of it, doesn't matter; it just sounds good. I'm not super into the big surrealist reverb tones, but this can do them well and it's fun to play with this pedal that way. Don't let the lack of a volume knob deter you. The pedal is ever so slightly more than unity output, not enough to sweat the difference at all. The pre-delay switch is really interesting. At the settings I'm running it's like I have a really subtle slap-back delay on. For country stuff that's really great, but the pre-delay shines especially well with heavier overdrive because it gives you back your clarity. There are a lot of scenarios where I want to use it, and a lot where I don't. I think the one improvement that could be made to the pedal is a remote switch option for the pre-delay control, but I get that wasn't the point of building this series. This is an always-on pedal for me and I really love what JHS does (and Wampler too). You just need to go ahead and buy it.

"Musician approved pedal
Purchased as a gift but son was very happy with how well it worked for him. He plays in a band and has a lot of pedals so knows what he's talking about!

Bought the Reverb
I’ve been looking for a reverb for a while, and wasn’t thrilled with the reverb on the DSL40CR (almost non-existent). In addition, I didn’t need a ton of features either, and just wanted a good solid reverb. That’s what this is… … a simple, uncomplicated design that has a very pleasing to the ear sound. I could dial-in a Fender Hot Rod III style reverb, and that’s pretty good. Sounded good on both clean, and with a little dirt. If you’re looking for more ambient tones, or extra bells & whistles the RV-6, Blue Sky, and Hall of Fame are great. Rainbow Reverb is another affordable one, but you’re also looking at $140+ in price. Good stuff, I’d say I’m happy. I’ve only had it a few hours, though. If I haven’t updated this review, assume all is well. Till next time… 👍🏻

Warm, dimensional, realistic, controllable
It's been a long time since I started my search for something subtle to add dimension to the sound of my chromatic harmonica with modified SM-58. Too many trials and errors. Countless returns, resales, lost money and time. I've tried expensive pedals and consoles, cheap like Donner or not so cheap like BlueSky, TC-HELICON etc... There where mostly bells, or mostly whistles.. or metallic, like hitting rail with hummer sound. Finally I found what I was looking for - clean, airy trail of note, almost like light wind that wraps around you. And, what's very important, I'm finally in total control. Controls on this device are extremely intuitive. Just plug and enjoy.. Reverb dial functions like mix: wet/dry signal. Eq function is more like tone - soft and darkish or bright. And decay is just a decay. And every dial flawlessly uniform. If you are a guitar player, read reviews left by guitar players, but if you are planning to use it with microphone as a reverb for any other instrument (violin, trumpet, acoustic guitar or.. whatever) this JHS Series-3 reverb should make you happy.

Simply amazing!
I’m not the type to need 9 different reverb types, I easily get overwhelmed when I’m faced with a lot of options, this is a simple little pedal that packs a wallop, great tones, love the slap back pre delay, can give you the simulation anywhere from a small room to outer space. Love the 3 series Reverb!

CHIARO!
Lo stretto necessario, per i miei gusti un po' chiaro, vabbè, c'è il tono.

Dichter Hall
Als Alternative für den im Amp (Fender Twin-Reverb „Tone Master“) eingebauten Hall gekauft. Klingt eintausend mal smoother!
