Awesome SSD
This SSD is awesome, so fast and pocket size. SSD's have come a long way in the past couple of years.

excellent performance
Blazing fast portable SSD with excellent performance. Read speeds are very impressive and transfers are quick and smooth. Compact, rugged design makes it easy to carry everywhere. Reliable storage and well worth the price.

Impressive
Compared to burning DVDs or using USB thumb drives of various qualities that range from slow to glacial, this SanDisk SSD, at a capability of 2000 MB/s, really makes backups a breeze. It took only a few minutes to backup 32 Gigs of data of pdf, mp3, mp4, etc. By default, users will connect directly to a USB port on their computer. However, connected by a USB 3 extension cable of only 2-metres that I employ, so as not to damage USB ports my main computer, that works fine for USB thumb drives or a webcam, it is a definite no-no for this USB drive: Directories will not build, files will not copy . . . Via a direct connection, everything works as it is supposed to work. Not knowing this, I was a heartbeat away from sending it back as hopelessly erratic in its operation, to be of any use :-)

waste of money
so disappointed. ⚠️ it only has one USB connector, so transfer speed is ultimately limited & can't take advantage of it being an NVMe drive. for it's cost they couldn't have multiple connectors with onboard system to even have parallel transfer? ⚠️ the disk heats up a lot even when not in use (actively reading / writing) so it's wasting energy and doing god knows what. I expected so much more. better off buying a NVMe-to-USB adapter to save money. ⚠️ It has some small separate embedded disk with encryption software but NO Linux software only Win/Mac and it is really laggy and stalled the machine when I clicked on it. ⚠️ For such a large storage capacity the likelihood of transfering data is high yet the cable is incredible short and impractically so. ⚠️ The USB-A connector doesn't even have a secure attachment mechanism, so when it was plugged into front panel and was moved slightly while transfering backup files, the physical plug came loose and caused it to corrupt the files and partition being transferred to. If they had bothered with parallel connection option you could have longer cable (more power), allow connection redundancy (if one cable disconnects). They didn't even think to add a clip or magnet to reduce possibility of the single USB plug being disconnected. The people who designed this are sub-par. The product is a lisbility and waste of money, severely over-priced.

Excellent SSD backup drive
I needed a new Time Machine backup drive for my Mac. This worked straight out of the box, no complicated setup. It's excellent, totally silent running, no mains power needed, very fast read/write speed. Highly recommended. Tiny complaint: USB lead provided is quite short. This suited me, but if you need to place it at a distance, you'll need a male/female USB extension.

Just have to figure it out. 😂 Will ask my son.

Never going back
As a videographer handing 2TB+ on projects - this SSD has been great with no drop on performance and has handled intense video formats with ease. Good feeling material that I trust to chuck in my bag with no worries of damage. Also love that it comes with a USB-C and a USB-A connector letting me seamlessly switch from my Windows laptop and Macbook. 10/10 would recommend!

Fast, good for sustained use and compatible with ipad Pro 2018 & iMac 2020
Are you finding researching a new SSD a complete minefield? Theres so many out there and I didn't know what to buy. I had 3 questions that I had to answer to come to my decision. Spoiler...they are not all equal! 1. Q: is it compatible with my iMac 2020 and iPad Pro 2018? (I'd read loads about compatibility issues and even contacted SanDisk who wouldn't commit to a clear answer). A: so far it works well with both, but see the speed results below. 2. Q: what speed does it give in real life? (I wanted to have around 1000 MBPS read and write speed even after sustained use). A: I did a Speedtest (Black Magic) through the Mac and it's giving approx. 950 MBPS read and write via the iMacs TB3 and USB port, which I'm very happy with. Remember, this is not a TB3 SSD. To get the full-rated 2000 MBps you'd need to use this with a USB 3.2 X2 port which my 2020 Mac doesn't have. Speed when connected to iPad? I'm not sure yet, but I'll revise this once I've worked it out. It's very decent though. 3. Q: why this particular SSD if you can't get the full speed out of it anyway? A1: it's fast enough for my needs right now, but it's heavily future proofed for when speedier ports become available on Macs or iPads. A2: it out performed similarly priced drives (Samsung T7, T5, Crucial X8, LaCie Rugged) and held its own against more expensive drives like Samsung X5, LaCie Rugged Pro, WD Black) with regards to speed and throttling, even after sustained use when transferring big files. (Throttling due to heat is a problem with many SSDs and claimed headline speeds aren't achieved in real life due to this). A3: it's small, seems durable for travelling and has no sharp edges to scratch other equipment. It comes with a USB-C to USB-C and a USB-C to USB-A cable. Both are a good length (approx. 30cm) for placement behind an iMac. A4: Its got a 5 year warranty. My question was… Should I go for the Extreme V2 (non-Pro version) rated at 1000 MBPS and save myself £45? The reviews are coming up decent as well for that one. Not quite as fast over sustained use, (approximately 800-ish), but if you don't ever see yourself ever getting a USB3.2 X2 machine, that would be my second choice.
