Mestemacher Organic German Bread - Flax Seed (17.6 ounce)

I love this bread ! Grew up on it ! It taste best with cold butter , good cheese and cold cuts . This bread is easy to freeze too , it dies not change the taste , color or texture . I do believe it is still over priced ! The same amount / weight would cost you in Germany about under 1 $ ! I am not kidding! Usually it's about 60 cent in € .same quality, weight and texture as it is in Germany . I have bought it in the USA now the 2nd time . But only because this is the only place where I can get it , if no one is visiting from Germany and deliver it to me .

very good for an occasional, with the carnivore diet. It's very German for sure. Which I like the thoughts of that. But it's not something I will buy frequently. Now some of you may just love it and love to make a sandwich out of it. We all have different taste buds.

The Bread slices are about as thick as a cracker, dry, and difficult to separate from the other slices without breaking the slice. If you are thinking Reuben sandwiches this is not the bread you want. It is too fragile for the toaster. I will put a slice in the toaster oven and try it with jam. It is a hearty bread.

I liked this and will get more but if you aren't familiar with pumpernickel its different. Refrigerate it first before use otherwise the slices just crumble away. Forget grabbing 2 slices smear the mustard and stack the ham. It will fall apart. So think openface . Cut each slice into 4 squares spread your mustard or butter add the cheese sausage pickle or whatever and enjoy.

Will not repurchase it. I like this category or custom made breads and tried many of them. This tastes like food for birds and mine was too wet and got moldy next day.

You had better like nonflour breads, I can eat it by itself but probably better toasted with Marmit and or butter. Others took a bite screwed up there face and said uh yeah no. Buy as a curiosity with caution.

Best bread ever!!!

It is exactly as I hoped it would be. So varietal. I love it toasted with avocado and onions. There is no wrong way to eat this fantastic product. Pricey? Yup. Worth it? 100% it will be my regular go-to.
