Amazon Basics Preventative Topical Flea Treatment and Prevention for Large Cats (Over 9 Pounds), Kills Fleas, 4 Count, Packaging May Vary

This was my first personal experience with any Amazon Basics branded product and I have been beyond satisfied, I've been legitimately surprised at how well this flea treatment has worked. Nearly every review of an Amazon Basics product I've seen or read has been overwhelminly positive so I had high hopes before it even arrived. There is essentially zero difference in the efficacy & duration of action between the expensive comparable name brands and this. The box says to compare it to the Advantage II equivalent, which I have experience with. While the ingredients and all seem identical and likely are identical, it genuinely seemed to me that not only did this brand work just as well and as fast as Advantage II, it seemed to last slightly longer (I doubt there was a noteable difference if there was a difference at all).Bottom line is that you are essentially getting the most respected, best performing, highest quality topical flea treatment for cats on the market for half the price. If you liked Advantage II & it worked well for you, I couldn't recommend the Amazon Basics equivalent more. It's like you're paying double the price to get the same actual product in an expensive brand's packaging.Most topical flea treatments that I've used in the past have been fairly easy to apply and this product was no different. In fact, because of how the application nozzle was shaped, this product was slightly easier to apply than most. The nozzle is designed in a way that makes it effortless to easily & quickly move thru the fur without snagging, allowing you to quickly apply it directly to the skin. Application is so quick and easy that it takes literal seconds and can be completed before your cat has a chance to realize something is going on.It doesn't take much time at all before it is very clearly working. In under an hour, fleas will quickly begin dropping dead. This product doesn't gradually eliminate fleas, it eradicates them with a vengeance and aggression. Once it begins working, a layer of dead fleas will be left behind any place your cat stays for more than a short moment. The efficacy is legitimately impressive.Surprisingly, for a product that works so strongly in such a short amount of time, I have noticed my cats experiencing exactly zero instances of negative issues such as irritated skin (even exactly where it was applied). The easy application process and the effective yet gentle medications used make for a product that does exactly what it claims to do without seeming to cause any physically or mental discomfort for cats.I have 4 cats all with varying fur types, lengths, thickness, etc. This product seems to work equally well and for just as long on all 4 so it appears that if applied correctly, the fur type doesn't have much, if any, impact on product performance.

This product has the exact same ingredients as a couple of the higher priced formulas for a fraction of the price.One ingredient kills adult fleas and one ingredient inhibits futher infestation from eggs.I still see an apparent flea bite reaction from time to time but we are in Texas and fleas are incredibly bad especially so far this year so it is a 95 percent improvement over no topical.The med soaked in quickly which is nice seeing as we Nickname flea meds "hot lava" around here because one cat hates it so much. Other than the emotional wounds he suffers, they tolerate the med with no problem noted.If you use Advecta or Advantage 2 this product is comparable to those and I actually have to shout out Amazon Basics on this quality product at an affordable price and taking a little stress off of pet owners.

Im still 50/50 on this product. I got this cause the collors i get for my cats were out of stock. Ive had to use it twice now. About 3 weeks in between. Mostly cause they're still getting fleas but thats also cause my roommates have indoor outdoor cats and havent treated theirs. So I think this would be a great monthly treatment as it does take care of the fleas for a while and if your on top of it with all your animals

Was using this but flea problems persisted. I changed to another product that is more expensive but works much better. Depends on your budget I guess.

The price is excellent and I have no doubt it probably works. However, both times that I applied to my cat she did not have a good reaction. The first time I thought it was perhaps user error as she is very flexible. So I put it more against the nape of her neck this month. However, she has been lethargic, emotional, and skittish which is so unlike her. I am worried about her health and I believe she doesn't take to this medication particularly well. Unfortunately, I think we'll have to just wash her from now on to prevent any more side effects :(

I was skeptical like everybody but I have been using this flea and tick for an entire year and my cats have absolutely no bugs on them whatsoever. My male cat literally lays in the bush outside of the house so he puts this stuff through its paces trust you me lol 🤣. You can't beat the price, I do a once a year switch to the flea and tick killer that also kills worms but that's 170$ dollars for 6 months and That's for one cat I mean who can afford that? So for the other 9 Month, this is my go too, I also treat a lot of outside cats and Friends pets so it being so cheap just works out. I never trusted the hartz brand that's 5$ it always sketched me out.

Fantastic productFleas in my area have developed a resistance to Petarmor plus and frontline so I decided to try Advantage 2 but with the cost I was having to choose between bills and my animals, this popped up in my recommended and I decided to give it a try, less than 2 hours after application my cats are acting much calmer and haven’t been biting or scratching nearly as much. Any reviews posted claiming poisoning are the result of poor application or feline allergies, there is no difference between this product and the name brand, I have tested. 🙂During application please make sure to part your kitty’s hair completely and apply the product directly to the skin on the back of their neckThis prevents the cat from being able to lick the medicine - which is what causes those harmful side effects!

The medicine works, but both of my cats have bald spots and irritation where the medicine was applied.
