It can only display the location record of the last connection or disconnection, which can only give you a rough range, but it cannot be tracked. **Q: How do you turn the tag off when not needing to use it?** A: There is no off or on. It sounds strange, but I take my cat outside and watch him until he or I want to come in. I have lost sight of him a few times, and I thought putting this tracker on him would be useful. It was, but has 3 failings that caused me to buy a Tile tracker instead. 1) bluetooth range is only about 10 feet. 2) the ringer on the tracker is too soft, and works only occasionally. 3) the tracker is tied to one specific phone, and sharing it to other phones is not quick or easy, and it not an option that can be set up permanently. Not partidularly useful when I needed "all hands on board" to find the cat. Tile does allow setting up multiple phones to one tracker BUT requires an additional premium service at $30/year.
