The Bible Made Easy for Kids by Dave Strehler is designed to engage children in a way that makes the Bible meaningful and interesting. Due to its sheer volume and small print, children may find it difficult to read a standard version of the Bible. This creative learning tool, read along with the own Bible, encourages children to discover the exciting connection between Bible stories and God's plan for their lives. There are line drawings that can be colored in, simple maps, interesting charts, and basic timelines that get kids excited about their journey from Genesis to Revelation. The topical index makes this an ideal resource for homeschooling. This book is not a Bible, but along with the Bible, it is a great guide for parents to use with family devotions, or for children to use in their personal Bible study. Good reading for the children
I find this book to be good as a companion to the Bible. Scriptures to go along with the stories and the layout were great. Definitions and explanations were made easy to understand, especially with the pictures. I recommend this book to every parent who wants to introduce their young children to an easier way to get to know the Bible.

Captivate childrenโs attention
These ESV childrenโs animated Bibles have been a tremendous blessing to our ministry! We recently started a street ministry focused on reaching children and families, and these Bibles have been one of the most effective and appreciated giveaways we have used. The illustrations and animated style immediately capture the childrenโs attention, making them excited to open and read Godโs Word. At the same time, the ESV translation provides a faithful and meaningful presentation of Scripture that parents also enjoy reading together with their children. It has been wonderful to see families sitting down together, looking through the stories, and talking about the Bible. The quality is excellent, the pages are colorful and engaging, and the overall design makes learning about Jesus enjoyable for young readers. We are extremely pleased with these Bibles and highly recommend them for churches, outreach ministries, Sunday schools, and anyone wanting to share the Gospel with children in a meaningful way

A fantastic handbook for Sunday school and Bible school teachers
I was trained as a parochial school teacher in a denomination that is very particular how Christian language is used and material is presented. I was afraid I could be wasting my money on material I shouldn't use in my VBS classroom. When I received the book, I found the stories in this year's curriculum and was pleased that all were included. Moreover, I carefully examined the points upon which my church finds friction with others. Everything I checked made me think this book had been printed by our own publishing house though it had not been. Teaching is clear and accurate about God's Word and how it teaches Christians to see Him. The presentation of salvation, of the lives of Christ, the Apostles, and the Church of the New Testament and the Families of the Old whose lives led to Christ's birth are presented well and with an appeal that will reach out to low and middle graders. As a former preschool teacher, I have no hesitation in thinking I could simplify it enough for preschoolers too. It is that well-written. The layout starts out as a Bible storybook. However, there are hints for simple crafts, charts, applicable Bible verses, everything a teacher could wish for in the way of lesson enhancements. Once the stories finish the gospels and Acts with Paul in Rome and all that he gladly suffers, his hardships are listed. The next section examines the epistles, explaining carefully what the letters were for, who wrote them, and why there can be numbers. The main points of each letter are developed and the doctrines presented are explained. Key Bible verses are highlighted and ideas that recur in other parts of the Bible are noted. Which takes us to Revelation. This one could be a deal breaker for many denominations. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the author simply set up what was being presented in the beginning of the book without interpretation. The material is laid out as written. Teachers of any denomination can present it with their own slant with no nudging one way or another from the author. That is very hard to pull off but I think he did it. I was very impressed. A well-thought-out index is useful, featuring charts and lists, maps, definitions and explanations, places, people, and special topics such as man, sin and salvation. It is anything but typical in that it is actually useful for someone searching for in-depth information, more than just a Bible story name. I am so pleased with this book, I am not going into this year's classes with the idea that this year is my last. I am reinvigorated. In fact, tonight I am going to compare what I have found in The Bible Made Easy to the little bit I have pulled together with my other materials. I've been procrastinating but now I am ready to dig in. My lessons are going to be so much better. The title should be updated. It is The Bible Made Eastโfor Kids. Dave Strehler should make that โfor Kidsโand Teachers. I am one happy VBS teacher! I recommend this for teacher libraries but I also encourage churches to consider it for church libraries. If you are happy with it, think about putting a copy into each classroom. (I'm also a former school librarian. I'm telling you, this book is that good!)

You can't go wrong with this if you are teaching a young child not only the stories but the concepts in the Bible
Really well done. I bought this as gift and skimmed it. It really gives a great overview and really understandable. If a parent really wants their child to have a head start in understanding the Bible and what the contents of each chapter are, this is a great Bible. It's not just the stories but the concepts and diagrams. I kinda wanted to keep it myself even thought I've read the Bible a few times. (: I had trouble deciding between the "Action Bible" and this one. I settled on this one because the Action Bible is basically a comic book. It would be very entertaining but I'm not sure the concepts would be grasped or if the child would just be entertained. My only criticism is that this book is really for the parent more than the child since it isn't colorful enough to catch the child's attention. If the images and diagrams were more colorful, a parent could sit side by side with a child and really get into it. Maybe I'm wrong since my kid is now almost 30. I don't think you can go wrong with this Bible for young children if you are involved in teaching them the Bible. If you are just turning a young child lose with a bible, you might consider the Action Bible (the one that is more like a comic book).

Good Bible Companion!
As the product states in its letter to parents, this is not a Bible. It is a Bible companion. Iโve appreciated the way it breaks things down for my kiddo in a way thatโs understandable to a child. We do add our own explanations to what is written as not everyoneโs views are going to be 100% the same which is to be expected. The author marries the Old Testament prophecy with the New Testament fulfillment of the prophecy rather well for the age group. While it is nowhere near BJUโs โFulfillment of Time,โ it is much easier to comprehend for the age group and written in a way that isnโt confusing for parent or child. We enjoy this Bible companion and are very glad to have found it!

Perfect for kiddos
I bought this book a long time ago, and I used it to tell bedtime stories to my kids when they were only 5 and 7 years old. I just keep it by the bed, and not that they are 9 and 11, I think the stories are clicking to them - they still ask me to read some, but my 11yr old told me one day that he really enjoyed reading it again by himself. So big 5-stars for this book! I like how aside from bible, it has explanations and interpretations on how to apply it to our daily lives without being overtly cheesy and too religious, you know?

A good Bible for children 8-13 years
I received the Bible after a few days. Although it was supposed to be used, I found it in pristine condition. My son had outgrown his children's Bible (lots of pictures and a simplified story) and needed something a bit more in-depth, yet he's not ready for an adult Bible. So this was a good compromise. I would say this may be for a child of about 8-13 years. Just so that you know, it is all black and white inside. There are some pictures, a few tables and charts to make it more fun. The writing is bigger and it's full of good applications for a child's life.
