Is this a good 'in between shampoos' conditioning rinse after the gym?

Yes, very much so! I'm almost done with the first shampoo bottle. This shampoo contains many natural ingredients that is actually nutritious to your hair. It smells good, the ladder is full and leaves my hair soft. I take medication that resulted in her loss. I also need to color my hair about every three weeks due to grey roots. My has thinned and feels dry and frizzy. I use the shampoo, conditioner and sometimes apply the hair mask. I was looking for a shampoo and hair conditioner to help reduce my hair loss. I see considerably less hair in the shower and shine back to my hair. Although my hair is still somewhat dry and frizzy. I started feeling less hair loss after used about 3/4 of the bottle. Because unlike many other shampoos the ingrients of this product contains many natural plant derivatives, I would recommend its frequent use such as after gym.
