Not an 'Everyday Shoe.'
After being interested in these for several years, I finally pulled the trigger and bought a pair. Here are my thoughts. I wear a 10.5, so I took the advice and got a half-size smaller. Length matched, but the width was a bit narrow. Not enough to send back and they stretch out fairly soon. This is a good thing because with only 2 eyelets a side, a snug fit is probably not possible. Again, this is a good thing because the heritage of this shoe is casual wear, not strenuous work. They are not 'cushiony' and I feel a little bit of the seam between the heel and front-foot on the right side when I first start walking in them, even after breaking them in. I also notice the cup of the heel on both shoes for the first few minutes of walking. Both soon go away. I saw several mentions of water leaving stains when they get wet. I noted this and, even though I had no intention of wearing these in the rain, I've avoided water whenever possible. I did however get a couple of drops on them and, sure enough, you can see them a few weeks later. Don't wear them when the weather threatens rain. I got these to get a less boyish look when I wear shorts in warm/hot weather when I'm out running light errands. I'm pleased with the results. These are quality shoes that I will be able to wear for years. The expense suggest an everyday wear shoe, and I get that, but these are not that type of shoe. But under the right conditions, you can, and will, get a lot of wear out of them.

Can't go wrong with this purchase.
I had been looking for this style of shoe for a very long time. A shoe that could be worn with jeans or in a business casual setting. This one definitely fit that category well. I chose the Beeswax style because it had a very stylish look and great color. I've owned my pair for about a year and a half, so they'll definitely last if you take care of them. When I first tried them on, they were a bit stiff, but ran true to size. After a couple of times wearing the shoe, it will start to break in and now fits like a glove. Now that it has been broken in, it is very comfortable and I haven't noticed any issues wearing it for extended periods of time. This shoe doesn't really handle active lifestyle use or wet weather conditions well. The sole doesn't provide enough grip for that so avoid those situations if you can. I can say that from experience from being in the Midwest and having to deal with icy conditions. However, I've really only put myself into that situation once and every other time they've been great. The price is definitely good for how long I've had them and wouldn't mind investing in another pair should mine wear out. Overall, I've really liked this shoe. It's really stylish, has great color, and fits really well. I definitely recommend them as my friends and I all love them. So, if you need a shoe for a quick bite out to eat or something to wear to the office, this is definitely the shoe for you. Have fun in them!

5 STAR SHOES (IF YOU CAN HANDLE A LITTLE EXTRA INITIAL WORK)
here's the thing, these are my absolute favorite shoes. but the sizing isn't always consistent. I ordered the exact same pair, same size and color, and it was smaller than usual. I suggest trying them on in a store. the other thing is, get these originals with the gum rubber sole. they are TEN TIMES better than the cheaper version they call "bushacre" you might see at a discount price. trust me. they last longer and are much more comfortable. worth the extra cost. the soles are pretty flat. my feet need good arch support. i bought some ten dollar dr school's arch support cushions and BOOM--they feel perfect. I have to get half a size larger to make sure they fit with the arch supports. my final note is that the 4 lace holes aren't enough for me. i like to be able to lace a little higher so my foot doesn't slide around too much inside the shoe. you can go to a shoe repair cobbler place and they can do that--grommets and all--for not very much money. i know these are a lot of caveats for a shoe i rated 5 star but hear me out: after all these conditions were met, these have become my absolute FAVORITE shoes. i wear them almost every day. they match with 90% of my outfits. they look great, feel great, and like a good pair of jeans, they get better with age. as long as they keep making them in this style and color and I can find the size that fits right, i will probably keep buying them whenever i need to, forever.

Comfortable and Durable
This is a very good looking shoe that offers all the comfort and durability that a lot of the other Chukka/Desert Boots don't have these days. I understand the difference between suede and the beeswax leather, but this shoe is only going to get better as it ages and softens up as opposed to breaking down completely like some of my other suede Chukkas. I really have enjoyed how comfortable these boots are. I wouldn't recommend walking miles and miles in these boots, but after being on my feet all day at work as well as going out at night these boots tend to still be comfortable. I only have an issue or two with these boots. 1. The laces that come with these boots are not that great. They don't feel like they will last longer than a week or two, so I was quick to swap these out with a more durable pair of laces. 2. Be sure you size down. I normally wear an 11 to 11.5, but thanks to some good reviews I ordered a 10.5 and this is the perfect fit for me. On the first day they felt a little snug, but there was still ample room in the toe box, but after a couple of wears and the process of breaking in they are opening up a bit and molding to my foot. I would definitely recommend this Chukka/Desert Boot to anyone looking for a nice, quality, and high end shoe at half the price a lot of retailers are selling their version of this shoe for.

These boots will LAST--hard to find that anywhere these days!
These are classic boots, and I have been continually satisfied with their solid construction and amazing durability. I bought these in 2015 to replace a pair I had had since 2010. My old pair was still holding up great--I had just worn them so much that they were a bit much on the eyes! I've found that with regular oiling (Clark's sells an oil sponge, or you can buy one from pretty much any drugstore), the leather will generally hold up and remain supple for many years. The crepe soles on these boots are so amazing. The fact that they start out white means they won't stay pretty forever, but no one's going to spend time looking at the soles of your shoes anyway. The beeswax leather has a great texture and is good both for casual wear and slightly dressier looks (e.g. khakis and a blazer). I find that Clark's are a little wide on me; not sure if others have similar experiences. But it's nothing I haven't been able to live with, and isn't noticeable enough to justify going to a narrower size. If you have arch problems I recommend wearing an insole in these, as they are built comfortably but aren't too friendly to those who over- or under-pronate. Long story short--great boots, worth paying for, you'll get years of use out of them. Check back in 5 years when I finally have to buy my next pair!

Stylin' casual boots!
Most reviews on here cover all the fine aspects of these boots. I ordered my first pair about a month ago and am in love with them! I always find ways to put them to use, even in the blazing summer heat. I'll just chime in with some useful suggestions to get the most out of these shoes: -first off, order either 1 full or a half size down. I normally go between 9-10 depending on shoe brand and an 8.5 in the desert boots fits me perfectly: snug enough around the arches and loose enough up in the toe box. I bought the 8.5 and 9 and just returned the 9's -second, the leather is pretty thick and therefore stiff at first. This can be uncomfortable before the ankles wear in, so get some mink oil and work that in to soften up the leather a bit (make sure to get all leather portions, including welt seams). you'll also have the added benefit of conditioning the leather and giving it some water resistance -third, the more you wear these boots the better they get! The leather gets very soft and supple to the point where the high tops feel like a caress on your ankles. the upper above your toes/arch will get these cool ripples in them and the shoe becomes flexible. the leather will wear in different areas and add more contrast and depth to the coloration, making the shoes more interesting to look at. Like all great clothing items, these boots will only get better with age. I see these lasting me for years if I use them like I would most shoes... but then again I'm obsessed and might ignore all my other choices and wear these into the ground in a year.

Total Foot Satisfaction
I am a person who before always wore sneakers. Vans, Converse, Pf Flyers , Macbeth, etc. This is the first boot I have ever owned, as well as the first footwear that upon first slipping on my feet, felt just right. The perfect angle for your feet to sit at, quality materials, and classic look. I actually chuckled to myself after getting them tied, because it felt like these shoes were made for MY feet. There are not many shoes that i can say that for, but these are one of them. Upon ordering, I was mildly concerned about the sizing. (U.S. customers) Some said that it was a full size larger, while others said only a half size larger. I would like to say that if you are a person who typically wears their shoes tight, to actual size, then all you need is to go down one half of a size. I wore a size 9 for most of my teenage years. Until recently, I tried sizing down a half size in all my normal brands, and while taking a couple days to break in, they fit SO much better. I typically wear a size 8.5 in all the brands mentioned above, with a tight fit. I say tight but i mean actually fitting. In Clarks, I wear a size 8. So it is safe to say that if you are like me, and do not require much toe room and like your shoes to fit, 1/2 size down is perfect. Keep in mind that these boots are meant to have a bit more room in the toe area than most shoes. If you are debating the quality or craftsmanship of this shoe, think no further. I can promise you will not be disappointed. I now know my go-to shoe/boot for all occasions.

Things you should know before purchasing
So, I thought I would strike a home run with these boots, but getting them and trying them on made me feel otherwise. Not only did I receive the wrong color boots (I received a color that was close enough to what I originally ordered, so I am not going to b@#ch and moan about that) but the shoes had nicks and stress marks when I opened the box. So that bothered me a bit, but I knew they were going to develop stress marks and nicks over time so I wasn't that perturbed considering the shoes are made out of leather. I wear an 11.5 and ordered a 10.5 considering the sizing is a bit funky. It was a bit narrow like where your toes are, and a bit loose by the heel, but that I can deal with. The shoes are very comfy to walk in though, and the soles of the shoe are super soft, cushioning your steps. So, overall the shoes are kinda eh. I will keep and wear them, but if you have the access to actually go to a shoe store and try these babies on, DO SO. I am always hesitant on ordering shoes online because of sizing issues and the subjectivity that people have about sizing considering everyone has a slightly different foot shape. Overall, I would recommend this product, but just be aware that these boots are different from all other shoes that you own. And oh yeah, I have got compliments wearing these around my college campus. The ladies like 'em which is always a benefit.
