Hot or Cold.. it does the job.
Excellent size, and BIG MOUTH for substitue for a Thurmus. > 52 oz capascty, all plastic with Stainless Steel Outside Trim. You do NOT have to FILL IT UP ! . Lid has a plastic gasket,,, easily damaged when cleaning,, be careful, when it needs replacing Amazon might still sell a replacement. Plastic Shell is brittle, and may be damaged when cleaning, especily the threading around the lid,, and body. Mild soap only . ... Because of stainless steel trim ,,, it is NOT MICROWAVABLE. >>> TIP on not having the lid leak (threads). Position the lid opening to be at about the 5pm after U put it on.

This thing is PHENOMENAL!
FIRST IMPRESSION: This is HUGE, and I love it! GENERAL COMMENTS: When full, it's pretty heavy, but it's just what I need. I always put a little ice in there and it keeps my drinks REALLY cold for the few hours that I use it. I'm a fast drinker, so I don't know how well it works for longer periods of time. It also seems exceptionally well-made. LID POSITION: Until I figured out exactly how to place the lid, it kept screwing on in an off-center position for me. Yikes! With some patience, I was finally able to get it seated properly, and on the way discovered that it's a dual-handed mug! DUAL-HANDED: Interestingly, this is made to be used left-handed or right-handed, which is terrific. Making the switch is really easy. Here's how. The lid takes a 180-degree turn to lock it into place. If you are other handed, just place the lid to point the opening in the opposite direction of where you want it and turn it 180-degees. Bingo! LID REMOVAL (easy): I also found that it's easier to remove the lid than many reviews indicate. It's actually a great setup for people like me with smaller or arthritic hands. Here's the trick. When you put the lid on, twist it just tight enough so it doesn't leak. If you twist it super tight, it may be hard, if not impossible, for you to get off. Having twisted it just tight enough, when you're ready to remove the lid, open up the top sipper stopper piece and push it all the way back so it locks into place on the other side. Using the side edge of that locked in piece, fairly gently (not too hard!) push and/or pull sideways on it. Note # 1 :: I'm pretty sure that's what the sipper stopper piece was designed for and why it's so solid. This technique should work for anybody who's even giving it a regular twist on, IF they fully lock the piece in place before trying it and/or push/pull so hard on it that the piece immediately or eventually cracks and breaks off. Note # 2 :: Because I'm not twisting the lid on tighter that simply to get it not to leak, the sipping/straw hole locates slightly off center, but only by a very little bit, maybe 1 or 2 degrees. STRAW: Speaking of straws, the sipping hole is too small to fit the larger straws that came with my other Bubba mugs. If I hadn't happened to have a few thinner hard-plastic straws on hand that were long enough, I would have ordered thinner ones from amazon or gotten the soft silicone straws that would conform to the weird shape of the sipping/straw hole.

Great mug, a bit leaky though
I love this giant mug, use it every day for my coffee. Insulation is insanely good, I can have it sat off the side for an hour and my coffee is still hot. My only issue is that it seems there is some type of issue with the lid, as this item seems to leak a bit. I'm not too happy about it, as I seem to never not get a bit of coffee on me. It's NOT Leak proof as this ideas thing below me is now suggesting to me so hopefully I'm making that clear. But other than that issue, it's my ideal mug in every way, size, weight and function!

Well-Insulated, With a Tightly-Fastening Top. Great for a wide range of needs - Tough and Reliable.
This is an excellent, and high-quality line of insulated mugs. The "Bubba" line seems to incorporate several styles and models of quality, also hardy drinking mugs and cups. I own several, and love them all. These were introduced to me by the merest of chances, Mr. H. located these for me as a result of issues experienced after a rather severe injury, and surgery. These mugs were excellent for someone recovering from surgery, with long-term bed-rest looming in front of one. I was stuck in bed, needed to get as many liquids down me as possible after the surgery, but was pretty much chained to the bed, unless a helper was close by. I was having issues with knocking my drinking glasses over, and drenching my bed,me and the carpets. Mr. H., the best of the best, drove all over to find something that would hold a larger amount of liquid, be easy to drink from, but have some form of protection from spillage.. His luck was good, he found a nice selection of all types of mugs at a local store. Thus, the entrance of the first "Bubba" mug into my household. It was absolutely perfect for my needs, it was well-insulated, had a very large, and easy to grasp handle. But, best of all - it had a tightly closing lid. It is cute to view, and I chuckled when he appeared with it. He filled it with ice, and the fruit juice recommended by my surgeon, and I was ready to go. This comes with a lovely, thick, and extremely pliable non-disposable straw, The handle was large and thick, not at all slippery, and easy for my hands to grip in their weakened state. The lid is tough to remove, just letting it fall is probably not going to cause a disaster on your floor, or in your bed clothes. There is a cute little rectangular lid on top, this also closes very securely, with a satisfying click. My first cup was smaller than 32 ounces, then we purchased a 32oz. size, and later a 52 oz. mug. This will be my second 52 ounce mug. These are superb for the hot, humid, and miserable summer weather that we are enduring. Fill it with ice, and your drink of choice, if will be awhile before you need a refill. As this is to be my fourth "Bubba" mug, my opinions on the matter are pretty clear. They are well-insulated, the top remains tightly in place, one can insert a straw through the opening, or use without a straw, taking care to close the top firmly after use. The insulation in the 32 oz., and 52 oz. is superior, holding liquids at a cool temperature for a long time, even on quite warm days. It has a lovely large handle, molded to the shape of ones grip. This eases usage for those with impaired hand use, whatever the reason. This is a quality item, my first mug is still in perfect condition. I have only needed to purchase a small bag of the special straws, after my straw had an unfortunate encounter with my puppy (Hint : The puppy won.). After I recovered, I continued to use this mug, and purchased an extra for Mr. H. He now wants the 52 oz. size, thus this order. Wash this by hand in hot water, and all will be well, I doubt that a dishwasher would be a wise choice. I have suffered no problems whatsoever with liquids leaking into the insulated section of the mug. The top grips tightly to the top of the mug, this is a quality item, and I recommend it highly. These are available in quite a few fun colors, as well as being available in slightly less well-insulated models. Whichever you choose, these perform their job well, and are a gift for those needing a bit of help with consuming liquids without spillage, or when someone wishes to fill their mug only once a day or so. I can find no faults with this mug. I had never heard of the mug brand, indeed had never seen one until Mr. H. found that first mug. It was a happy day, now I have even more selection on Amazon. All is well within the world of "Bubba" cupdom.

Great Father’s Day gift, and everyday carry cup.
If if you owned one, it’s the same thing but new. If you haven’t, I’m on my 3rd or 4th cup now, and will keep ordering one when they get worn out, it’s a nice quality big cup. Great for big handed guys, large easy to grip handle. Mine gets refilled with fresh ice water 2-4 times a day, how long it stays cold depends on ambient temps. But even on hot days a 20oz chunk of ice usually keeps it cold for 4+ hours. Not leak proof, but with lid shut if tipped it’s just a few drips before you can right the cup.

What gives? $25 for a mug that leaks?
I found this mug and thought it'd replace a childhood favorite mug that went bad over the years. I was hugely disappointed when I took a drink and had it spill down my shirt. I also ordered the replacement gaskets because I thought this would be the mug to last the test of time. My hopes were all shot down. Even the replacement gaskets didn't help the leak, as soon as the liquid got above the gasket line it would leak out where the lid makes contact with the mug. Oh and by leak, I mean the mug may as well have a tiny hole in the side, it wasn't a few drops, it was bad. The design didn't make sense to me, there's no way for the gasket to provide a perfect seal, as if the design is flawed. I'm extremely puzzled by the quality as this mug came so well reviewed. When going down the rabbit hole to see if there's a fix it sounds like people have a chance to get one that leaks and you just have to cross your fingers and hope you get a good one. I ended up returning the product as apparently I got a dud. Bubba, wtf? Seriously, you're gonna make a $25 mug that doesn't fit in a cup holder and not make it leakproof? Come on, this purchase straight up pissed me off. Such a tease.
