Translator's language not comprehensible
Khushwant Singh wrote good books. He had a good understanding of the subject when he wrote. Punjabi is my mother tongue, the language of this book is incomprehensible. The Punjabi words the translator (Gurcharan Singh Aulakh) has used, I do not know where he got them from. I just read Nihal Singh Ras's historical novels, didn't have problems understanding and enjoying them. This book "Ranjit Singh" I tried to read approximately 15 pages, just gave up. I will read Khushwant Singh's original book in English.
