This stuff works and saves you money, but there is a catch.
So, replacement dishwasher racks are prohibitively expensive. Like $150 each in some cases. This stuff prolongs the use of your old ones and I know after doing mine that they'll last years longer. But with all things that save you money on, there is a catch. This takes some work and some of it isn't fun or easy. My racks were terrible. Not just like a little rusty, but like a 1/4 inch down on a third of the little dealies. Those parts were not salvageable. I had to cut big chunks off of some of them with a dremel. But once they were cut off and the rust removed, this product worked great. I gave all of the exposed metal 2 coats by themselves and then a final coat before putting on the little covers. I also had some areas that were completely rusted through in other spots that I sanded away the rust, sealed with the liquid and then cut the tip of the covers off and split them lengthwise and wrapped around the spots. None of this is necessarily easy, but if you're a competent DIYer, there is no reason to waste your money on new racks. Prolong them and then replace the entire machine when something bigger lets go. So to recap my review.... 1. Not easy. 2. Takes a bunch of work. 3. Totally works. 4. Saves you a fortune.

These worked great in my dishwasher
These worked great in my dishwasher. I do caution anyone using this to do 2 tynes at a time because the goop (glue) dries very very fast.

Great product so far
I hope that I can add on to the review after a few months. So far it has been very easy to use and install. The instructions say to use in a well-ventilated area, this is very true. I ended up finishing up outside. Not to say you cannot do it inside or it stinks, just the liquid will get a bit strong. The caps fit snug on the tines and even stretch a little bit to cover the ones that had busted open and become a bit larger due to the rust. They however did not stretch enough to fit on the larger side pieces. I ended up just using the liquid on the sides. I am glad that I took it outside as I found that the bottom of the bottom rack had some bad spots. I used the liquid to paint over those bad spots and ended up hitting it with a second coat just to make sure that it was completely sealed. I really wish that I would have thought of doing this years ago when the dishwasher was new. ==UPDATE== After almost a full year the product has held up very well. every part of the dishwasher is in exactly the same state it was a year ago. This product has worked very well, and I would still recommend it.

Was not able to test how well it could hold up in the dishwasher.
I read many previous reviews before buying. I bought the larger size bottle. I used a dremel tool with these small diamond tipped tool bits (can buy on amazon, just search for "diamond tip bit tool" - cost under $5) to effortlessly sand down the rusted portions. I worked quickly and I had no trouble using this product. However, after I used about 100 of the caps, I flipped my rack over and realized much more of the bottom rack was rusted. It was rusted in places where I could put the Goop, but could not use the caps. The dremel made it easy to sand, however, there was so much sanding needed, I got tired of it even before I flipped over the rack and saw that the bottom was rusted too. I finally gave up, threw the rack in the garbage (of which a new one was going to cost me about $150) and I just bought a new dishwasher. The new dishwasher's rack, I believe is either vinyl, pvc or some other material that is not metal on the inside. Cost me about $450, my old dishwasher was about 12 years old.

Easy fix
After reading reviews for this product and others that are similar, I ordered the largest amount I could find. Shipping was fast and despite other reviews, I took my time and maybe because my dishwasher is on the older side, the pegs were easy to cap & it was an easy fix. Happy to not have little rust spots on my new dishes. We’ll see how it holds up over time.

works great
Works as advertised BUT : 1.- Would not hurt to add some basic instructions (like remove all rust with a file for best results) 2.- This thing dries FAST ... the little brush gets LOADED with dried paint really fast
