Does the Dropkick require subwooers for a bass sound?

Not required, though a subwoofer would probably help. I run mine through a single-speaker PA with multiple 4" drivers. I roll off the high frequencies on my mixer and still get a pretty decent bass thump even out of my little tiny speakers. But, I'm sure it would sound even fatter with a sub.

Does it work well with heel tapping? If not then what other products can you reccomend for heel tapping?

Are the curved black lines raised, and do they create a ripple effect when you slide your foot over them?
